The museum in the Upper Castle is the best thing to visit in...

The museum in the Upper Castle is the best thing to visit in Siegen, which explains the history of the royalty who lived there, especially the Nassau / Oranje family whose descendants are still on the Dutch throne. Also good detail of the iron ore mining and iron/steel manufacture locally. We didn't find much else in Siegen to tempt us, but were glad to go out to Freudenberg to see the large number of attractive timbered houses.

historical sights very impressive, rest of the town a nightmare because of the amount of roadwork and construction going on and the horrible architecture. And where are the decent restaurants and pubs?

Friendly staff and very clean rooms. The room had a small fridge which is plus. The beds were comfortable and they are electrically adjusted for position. The bathroom was clean and towels were almost new. Bus stop to Siegen central is in front of the hotel (I think it costs 5 EUR). Check in was swift as we did not have to fill any forms or sign anything. The room key also opens the main entrance of the hotel. The hotel is located in a nice quiet area with a lot of green trees. There is a supermarket next to the hotel - 10 minute walk.

Whenever I visit Siegen, whether for a day or longer, I always choose to stay here. It’s a clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly place with a nice view, conveniently located near the city center. The accommodation is warm and quiet, with access to a bathroom, kitchen, and reliable internet. The host is a kind and welcoming person, always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it—enjoy your stay as much as I do!

The hotel is set in pleasant grounds with several buildings making up the overall complex. It is rather hard to rate this hotel as there were many good points; the king-size bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was light and airy and the staff there, both for breakfast and evening meal were very helpful and friendly. But there are also things which need improvement, for which see below

Stayed here overnight for a work trip, the rooms were sufficient for a night stay over. But what was absolutely stellar was the breakfast options, one of the best I have had in Germany.
