This is my second stay at the Hotel Haus Duden. I stayed in Room 12. The entire hotel and its facilities are very charming. The room is spacious and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend.

Yes, I also wondered about the mayor of Wesel.

Yes, I also wondered about the mayor of Wesel. I was pleased that they're addressing the issue proactively and integrating the donkey into the cityscape. The district capital of Wesel itself didn't particularly captivate me – the church and the market square. But when you travel to this area, you usually want to cycle, hike through the Rhine meadows, or visit museums.

A vibrant shopping area; the new outdoor pool leaves little to be desired, child-friendly, but accessibility for people with disabilities was overlooked! There was no handrail on the steps of the sun terrace, nor a ramp for a walker! If these issues are addressed, everything will be perfect!

Wesel is a very beautiful city where you can have fun, enjoy peace and quiet, and experience culture. You can walk through the city all the way to the Rhine and enjoy the sun in small cafes. We were very satisfied and will come back again.

Apart from the EVK hospital, I didn't see much of Wesel.

Apart from the EVK hospital, I didn't see much of Wesel. However, there's an excellent Thai restaurant (Ayutthaya Thai-Food Restaurant) on the B8, a 5-minute drive away. If you're in the mood for a doner kebab, Celik's Doner at Kurt-Kräcker Str. 27 is a fantastic alternative. They serve exceptionally good doner kebabs where everything is just right. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try anything else.

I wasn't in Wesel, but in a small village called Bislich.

I wasn't in Wesel, but in a small village called Bislich. It was really lovely there. There are lots of storks nesting nearby, and there's even a dedicated circular hiking trail. Definitely worth seeing. You can also explore the area beautifully by bike on the excellent cycle paths.

The city center of Wesel is anything but worth seeing; it...

The city center of Wesel is anything but worth seeing; it seems run-down. The hotel's location right on the Rhine, its proximity to nature, and the nearby lounge bar compensated for this. I would only stay there again for a short break for those reasons. Wesel itself is completely unappealing to me.

A clean and very well equipped, comfortable apartment the middle of the countryside but still reasonably close to Wesel and the Rhine. I was greeted and shown the apartment by one of the owners, who was very pleasant and helpful, suggesting 2 restaurants close by that would be open (it was a public holiday and most places I had cycled past were closed). I went to one of the restaurants and had a good meal I was able to do some washing and hang it up to dry It was very quiet and I got a good nights sleep

A good location, very friendly staff who speak English. There is a paid parking lot from the hotel and a free unguarded parking area nearby. Both have charging stations for electric cars. We stayed with kids, and they provided a baby cot. The hotel is not brand new, but still quite pleasant. There is a sauna — we didn’t use it, so I can’t say how it is. Nearby there is a promenade, a children’s playground, and a public swimming pool. You can also rent bicycles.

Good to find a personal hotel, with an interesting back history. Really nice setting and it felt comfortable. We had a decent meal made better by the super waitress who was full of care and enthusiasm..At breakfast I found something that was outstanding.Years even 6 decades of travel and finally there it was..The perfect openable tomato sauce sashet.Worth going to find and marvel..
