This strategically located hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Wilhelmshaven’s pedestrian area and Nordseepassage shopping and dining complex. The room was clean with a good size bathroom. The location is just outside the centre of Wilhelmshaven, but with easy access to venture out of town. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke very good English (my German is poor!). The hotel restaurant was great and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone.

Wilhelmshaven was largely rebuilt after WWII, but plenty of older buildings survive. Its history is fascinating and is well-depicted in the excellent Küstenmuseum (Coastal Museum, Weserstraße 58). The Deutsches Marinemuseum (Navy Museum, Südstrand 125) was recommended by locals and is ear-marked for a future visit.
A special place as we met at a British boarding school that was located directly opposite the school. This year we celebrated our 50th wedding Anniversary, so wanted to return to a very place where it all began!!
We were visiting friends and so had a different approach to the place. However it would be good for a couple of day's "ordinary" visit with interesting locations around the town, but remember it is basically a garrison town. Its High street is a good shopping for the ladies and a visit to nearby town of Jever will give one the chance to visit its brewery and also an old 17th. century Schloss -right in the town centre.
Wilhelmshaven was really a refreshing and unexpected surprise. My family and I visited the city with no great expectations of any sort, however we were left "gasping for more". The city is not crowded at all, leaving you with the possibility to enjoy the vast bigness of streets, parks, museums, history and culture. It is visible that the city played a rather large historical role in the past, while at the same time is being kind of "left on the side" from the other nearby major centers nowadays, such as Hamburg, Lübeck and Bremen. This is something which allows you "to breath", while taking a stroll along the city... And even though there is still room for development and improvement within the city, there are already certain small things on place, which can take your breath away - a small hint: visit the marine museum and the rosarium ;)
Suedstrand waterfront to sit and see the Jade bay Naval museum Italian ice cream parlours Banter Ruine restaurant Tee Bakker tea shop - family owned for more than 200 years and first class tea; describe what you like and they should be able to satisfy your taste; I go for Pastorentee (strong Ostfriesentee not unlike a very very good breakfast tea) Wattenmeerhaus museum of the mudflats and their wildlife Kuestenmuseum - history of the area Aquarium
We visit every year on our way to Amsterdam . My husband was born in Wilhelmshaven and enjoys the associated memories. Usually we stay at the Ankerplatz Hotel, it’s more central and easier for older visitors to walk to places. Sorry to have missed the Licht festival, it was magical.
Wilhelmshaven
Fantastic 360 views from the roof terrace. Inside space was large, well furnished, appeared recently remodeled. Hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. Went above and beyond. Located in a quiet neighborhood but with several interesting shops and restaurants. Just a short walk across a bridge to Wilhelmshaven‘s Sud Strand. Would recommend 100% and would hope to stay there again in the future.
No problem with checking in and out. The 'No-fuss-Key card' to get in and out of the Hotel and room. Everything was clean and tidy; personnel is friendly and helpful; great choice for breakfast with bread, cold meat, cheese, fish specialities and more; coffee and tea available throughout the day (self-serve in the dining area); various bus services within 5-Minute walk.

Walk in shower, elevator. For northern Germany a real asset: modern apartment, brand new. Bathroom was very clean. Very spacious. Quiet location at night. Free parking. Refrigerator equiped with the necessary amenities for a quick breakfast. Staff at City Valois Hotel very friendly and helpful, specially the lady from the day shift.
After the lubeck hotel it was like going to heaven ! Everything was excellent, a beautiful, big, modern hotel room and furnishings. The breakfast was terrific , plenty of choice and catering for all tastes. A quarter of an hour walk took one through the main shopping streets and to the railway station
We came right from a holidayIn hotel at 3 times the cost, and got a better hotel, better service and nicer rooms. It was great...
