Getting around Roseau is super easy. Everything is walking distance which is very convinient. The local bus runs through there and is cheap to catch a ride into other towns if necessary. Roseau is close to the national park so if you want to go hiking or do any activities it is just a short drive over. There are quite a bit of places to get food and there is a supermarket as well. Plenty of local places to shop around and the people are all extremely friendly and courteous. Everything is pretty laid back so if you are a face paced person don't expect super fast service when getting food. However, that is the whole island of Dominica so relax and enjoy the time you spend here!
Roseau is a small and sometimes bustling town. The people are friendly and very helpful. It is easier to walk through Roseau than drive. There are many unpretentious and comfortable places to eat and shop. Local food is always a treat and "Urban Garden Cafe," "Guiyave" and "Coco Rico" offer up inexpensive and tasty varieties of Dominican cuisine. In addition, right next to the botanic gardens is LePetit Paris Bakery and restaurant. This is a delightful French cafe place with wonderful pizza and a variety of sandwiches and salads. Located next to the river, the airy setting is a pleasant place to have a hearty lunch. Of course while in Roseau, there are waterfalls, hot/cold springs, scuba diving and and snorkeling, whale watching, to name a few activities that can be booked from Roseau. There are mountains and hills that surround the town and are easily reachable by hiking up any road leading away from the sea. This my third trip to Dominica and I have stayed in or around Roseau. There is a remarkable sense of pride of the people in keeping the flow and atmosphere steady and calm. One can feel comfortable and safe in Roseau.
Roseau is a very nice little town with some nice bars and restaurants. It's a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide kind of town, when a cruise ship has arrived the city is crowded with tourists, and taxi drivers and guides are trying to catch you to bring you to some locations on the island. If there is no ship the city is almost empty and way more relaxed, and it is more fun to stroll through the streets.
Dominica itself deserves visiting it's the greenest Island on the Caribbean. Roseau is the best starting point for all the majority attractions. Please don't expect paradise beaches, it's more about hiking. Street food is great and better than in the touristy restaurants, not to be omitted - much cheaper. The majority of attraction are "of local importance" and can not make an impression on average American or European. Among the unique sites only Boiling lake and probably Kalinago territory with its beautiful Atlantic coastline and Indians - Kalinago. Other sites Indian river, waterfalls, emerald pool are not worth spending your valuable time and money unless you have plenty of it- dont regret if you skip something.

Location and Terrasse are good and the staff is supremely accommodating and friendly, the WiFi worked well all through the hotel and there was a splendid view every evening from the Terrasse. Shower had hot and cold water at a good strong flow. The air-conditioning worked well too and the pool facility was a nice added touch.

The owners will make sure you have whatever you need to enjoy your stay at their home. You have your own entrance and exit, a full kitchen, and your own large bathroom, so it feels a bit more like a hotel in many ways. You definitely feel at home but can enjoy privacy as well - the perfect combination!

Keith and his family are very nice. He found us a guide to go to Boiling Lake. If you come by bus (just like us !): take a minibus in Roseau to Massacre (2,5 XCD) and you go up (500 m) to Corosol Apartments (follow the signs)
