Hotel Residence Eden is located 5 minutes’ walk from Dominicus Beach and 1.9 mi from Bayahibe Beach. Free WiFi is available in some rooms and guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool. The location is stated incorrectly as it is not in Bayahibe, but Dominicus - a more expensive part of the island. The hotel is close to the beach and right by the main road with access to gua guas (buses) which can take you directly to Bayahibe and La Romana. The breakfast menu had extremely limited options with small portions for the price paid.

There were some nice, exotic restaurants, ATM machines to get local currency, shops, the beach and the wharf- everything was short walking distance from the Guest House. We travelled to Punta Cana to see the Atlantic. A waste of time. You couldn't even see it from the highway because of the high walls of the resorts. Bayahibe is way less "touristy" and more interesting. We felt safe the whole time. Magalanes beach was a ten minute walk from our room. We did not use Bayahibe beach because it is more of a boat harbor. We also took a day boat excursion to Saona Island. The beach there was fantastic, and food was provided. People danced the meringue on the boat!
We encountered racism from the locals in pretty much every shop: don't expect to have any smile or a friendly welcoming in this town. You are a white person just good enough for your money, not a human being worthy of respect for them. We were taken in hostage by the taxi from the airport, forced to pay in cash an extravagant price, as he refused to use the uber application, but had locked the doors. You will be harassed all day by locals who want 'till your last dollar in your pocket. Every occasion is good to scam you from the taxi driver to the waitress who doesn't give you back the right amount of change. I had read on internet "authentic village of fishermen" : that is a complete lie. The population of Bayahibe exclusively lives from tourism and I haven't seen any fishermen in the village despite of the presence of a lot of boats. Restaurants are as expensive as in Canada !
While we met some nice locals in cafes in the town (Marcellas and Gringos were fun spots to hang out), the town itself is a not a cute fishing village as described in reviews, but a busy, noisy, smelly place that has become a loading area for buses and boats to take folks staying at punta cana to nearby saona island daily. there is no good walking path to the public beach and the public portion of that beach itself is a small crowded strip. you have to stay in a resort to get a better stretch of beach or guards shoo you away even though it is all public. there are much better beaches in the D.R. than this one, for example las galeras and las terrenas. don't waste your money traveling to bayahibe. this place seems to be living off its past history as a quiet peaceful fishing village at one time. it is no longer so. some folks would say we should have gone to nearby dominicus but the whole area is overpriced and overrated compared to what you can experience on the North Coast.
Racism and nationalism it is a usual staff behavior (speccialy if you not speak spanish or french). Sexual molestation staff. One of the dinner area employees hinted at sex to my wife and handed her the phone number. It is common in this country (stick to other people's wives). No more vacation in Dominican Republic for my family, especially for my wife and daughter. One of the pizzeria employees was so rude. If you ask another piece(s) of pizza he made poker face. He was making ketchup fokkacho instead of pizza. Another of the pizzeria employees empty Coca-Cola 2L Bottle and filled it by beer (for himself). No CCTV in dining area. In case of this somebody from staff stole my baby girl favorite toy. Cocktail bar staff are unique. They can't make non-alcohol drinks. And more, more and more....
Not the best known hotel area but the best choice to reach Saona island, Catalina island and Santo Domingo. Punta Cana/Bavaro hotel residents were sadden about sea-weed. At Bayahibe there was no sea-weed. Bayahibe is Caribbean sea, the northern region is Atlantic ocean.
Less busy beach, downside no sun umbrellas provided. Postive point about Bayahibe is not effected by the seaweed problem like Punta Cana and all Atlantic beach destinations (Mexico Tulum ) Hotel is a bit tired, food is not overwhelming but ok for this hotel category of hotel. We plan to return next month to Dom Rep - not sure what hotel to stay
Bayahibe
We loved that hotel is small and cosy. Room was not big but had everything needed - good storage, fridge, comfortable bed and good air conditioning. Location is great, easy and fast to reach diving shops and port for taking day trips to islands. Bayahibe public beach is also nearby takes 10 min by walking. Breakfast was also good in the nearby restaurant. Staff is very friendly and helpful, gave us some recommendations for local food and sightseeing. Highly recommended!
Hotel room was clean and comfortable. The hotel area is huge, you can find all the facilities you need. Food was delicious and very diverse even in the covid times. Hotel beach is beautiful and is a few steps from the nearest bar. Wifi is working everywhere. Staff allowed us to change our room first day of our stay (reason - first room was located far from the beach and there was a loud family with children netxt door)

Kristian assisted with check-in after hours and gave great advice for activities in Bayahibe. Breakfast at Gringo's was simple but good. Gringo's was a neat restaurant, with New Jersey flavor. Parking across the street was easy to get to. Shell bedroom AC was ice cold, very nice. The view from Shell living room was good.
Very impressed about the hotel, all the facilities are available, unless many hotels that due to low attendance of guest, has many limitations in restaurants and food quality, but here are Hilton, everything is open and the food quality is amazing compared to other resorts in the zones.
Cadaques Bayahibe is a spectacular place, very safe for children and where you can share with your family on the private beach, its beautiful pools and the very complete water park; but unfortunately, once again, Greta Ortiz gave us a different apartment than the one we rented.
Importat things were good - big room with comfortable bed, very nice and clean hotel facility, garden and pools, lovely beach, good drinks, very good food in restaurant, espacially steaks. Very polite and friendly staff. Shows and entertainment programm every day. Aquapark.
Lovely place with amazing hosts, they gave us all necessary advises and helped to manage transport. Apartament is located in Whala! Bayahibe hotel where you can enjoy 4 pools with The landscape view.
