Beautiful,y restored building, once a monastery, to a very comfortable and spacious hotel. It was a welcome respite after the strenuous hill climb from St. Jean to the summit, and the descent to Roncesvalles. Gracefully appointed and well designed. The dining room and menu choices provided superb examples of Navarrese cuisine.

Everything was amazing, this is such a unique place to stay. Luismi lead the animal walk in the mornings. I attended all the mornings I was there, it was always fun and very interesting. You get the opportunity to learn a lot about each of the animals and a little bit about what is involved in taking care of them. This is one of the best parts of the stay especially if you have kids, they really love it. Alicia prepared the breakfast each morning which was really amazing. Something different was provided everyday but it was always food that was very fresh, with a great variety of juices and breads. There are also numerous books and maps provided in each room with great suggestions on places to visit in the surrounding areas. I went on a different hike everyday, I found it pretty easy to get around by car. Alicia and Luismi really are wonderful hosts, I would definitely come back to stay again.

Ideal location for visiting the valleys and mountains of Navarre. There are few gas stations and places to eat in the area, but there is a gas station in Aribe, and you can eat at this hotel or bring picnic lunches.

Aribe is perfect for escaping the daily grind and the crowds...

Aribe is perfect for escaping the daily grind and the crowds. A small village with just the essentials. A good location for exploring the Irati Forest and visiting other neighboring villages (larger and with more amenities). Aribe is beautiful to look at! And perfect for a stroll along the riverbank.

The hotel is located in a peaceful spot, ideal for hiking...

The hotel is located in a peaceful spot, ideal for hiking and getting away from it all. The village has more amenities than I expected: pharmacy, bank, supermarket, gas station, etc. The hotel is small, but the service is wonderful. The breakfast is varied and plentiful. We had dinner there two nights: delicious homemade food. It's a shame to have to leave.

A small, quiet village, one of the two gateways to the Irati...

A small, quiet village, one of the two gateways to the Irati Forest, bisected by the river of the same name. It boasts a beautiful, perfectly preserved Roman bridge and a wooden suspension bridge reached by walking a couple of kilometers along a path parallel to the river. There's a pharmacy, a supermarket/bar, a gas station, and an ATM. It was four days of complete relaxation surrounded by nature.

A charming and welcoming village.

A charming and welcoming village. Close to the Irati Forest and very well connected to the surrounding towns and tourist areas. Perfect for a few days of peace and quiet, spending time with family and/or friends, and above all, enjoying spectacular nature. We loved the Irati Forest. The food in the area is very good and reasonably priced.

A very quiet village with plenty of amenities in a beautiful...

A very quiet village with plenty of amenities in a beautiful area. There's a Carrefour supermarket open every day with everything you need. Easy and scenic hiking trails start right from the village. It's also very well located for visiting the Irati Forest.
