With good access to the A-66 Motorway, this spa-hotel is just outside Hervás in Extremadura’s Ambroz Valley. It offers a modern spa with an indoor pool, outdoor pool and a hot tub. Location is great, just 10 minutes away by car from Hervás and with plenty of space for walks, The environment is beautiful as it is surrounded by nature. Food in the hotel was good, and not extremely expensive for what you find in other places during the high season. Our room had the perfect size and wasn't noisy at all. We also booked some treatments in the spa area and the girls were so kind with us, especially Noelia. She was such a good practitioner and gave my partner some tips to improve his posture.

These rustic apartments are located in a quiet area of Hervás’ Old Town, in northern Extremadura. They feature free Wi-Fi, a TV and a shared lounge with board games and a fireplace. Victor met me with the keys and offered a choice of rooms. The period family house was spotless and well furnished. No breakfast on offer, but nearby ( 10 metres) cafe was available after 9.00 am. Victor also booked me a table at nearby restaurant for my arrival and introduced me to proprietor. Luckily street parking was available within 100 metres.

El Manantial Del Fresno is set in countryside 2 minutes' drive from central Hervás and 25 mi from Plasencia. It offers a seasonal outdoor pool and free bicycle use. Friendly, family run site, offering sons as English interpreters, which was much appreciated - especially when ordering a takeaway! Generous hosts, also utilising verbal app translators to help us understand and make the most of the region. Fantastic pool, and beautifully kept grounds, with olive and Ash trees to provide shade (also, a charming addition of free-roaming ducks and rabbits). Lovely, well cleaned, spacious, well-designed cabins. Free and easy-to-use laundry/washing machines. Free WiFi in public areas. Fabulous location near to charming Hervas. We would love to return! Being able to book via Booking.com made this process seamless, and easy.
