FAQs about hotels in Madrid

The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

Madrid is one of the world's greatest cities, with a long and fascinating history, and rich culture. Spain is a member of the European Union, and world-leader in human rights. What i liked was that the Police presence was omni-present, but low-key; Full marks to the Madrid P.D.

My perception about Madrid was bus drivers was not so helpful when you needed help. It’s better off asking local people and they were willing to help. Bus drivers were very arrogant and not willing to help. Thus happened to us not once but a couple of times. They just ignored you when asked for direction.

I have been to Madrid many times.

I have been to Madrid many times. It is a vibrant place, with a happening night life, rich cultural scene, and incredible food. It is easy to get around the city if you stay in the center - you can usually walk to most major locations. However, the metro is also fairly cheap and convenient as well. As a solo traveler, I've enjoyed going to small theater performances (seating of like 50-100), museums, walking in Retiro park, going to the Sunday morning market (El Rastro), visiting different neighborhoods like Malasaña and Lavapiés by foot, and shopping in places like Chueca or Gran Vía. I try to avoid overly touristy areas, but it's hard. This past time, I found the city to be PACKED with people like I've never seen it. I also found Sol to be really exposed to the sun in a way that I don't recall before its recent renovation. You need to scope out cool places in the city if you are going in the month of July. Be prepared for the heat, even in the evenings.

This was my second time to Madrid and it was just as amazing as last time but sadly shorter. I really enjoyed walking around the city at night and the most beautiful place was the Palace and Cathedral as the sun was setting. The atmosphere was magical as there was an amazing violinist playing classical music, the atmosphere was calm and tranquillity and not crowded in the evening. the views from the terrace over Madrid and the mountains beyond were spectacular. I ate dinner at a fantastic restaurant called Posada Diavilla on Cava Baja 9, where I received a warm welcome into the bar. The building and decor was original and full of history, food, service and ambience fantastic, quite expensive but, worth it. I highly recommend a visit.

Impressed with the cleanliness of the areas of the city we visited. We walked most places but easy to get an Uber which came promptly when required. Particularly enjoyed the peacefulness of the gardens behind / below the palace.

Wonderful city with much to do! Try and stay near the heart of the city. The first hotel we stayed at, Catalonia Las Cortez, was amazing! It was historic and beautiful! We were in walking distance from everything. Make sure to visit the park in the heart of the city and dine outside in the public square. There is are many Mercado to visit and taste the local cuisine.

The staff were outstanding. The cosiness of the facility with the amazing interior design and the variety. The flexibility of the 24 hour Checkin and checkout. Location to city centre was so convenient. It was busy and exciting down in the bar and restaurants but once in the room, there was the privacy and quietness. I will choose this hotel again when back in Madrid.

Very good hotel for a weekend break in Madrid. Location is half way between the airport and city centre. The area itself around the hotel is ok. There’s not a huge amount to do or amanzing shops, but there’s a few patisserie’s around. It is 20 minutes on the metro to the city centre.

The hotel is based very central at Gran Via. A good and various breakfast is offered. But the best part is the rooftop bar and pool, at the city centre but still calm enough to relax during the day - or the night.
