The aqueduct is the most obvious attraction and it dominates the town, being right through the centre. It is a truly fabulous monument to the craftsmanship and expertise of the Romans. The old town is well worth a visit particularly the Plaza Major with the huge cathedral at one end of this typical Spanish town square.
Such a beautiful town with 2000 years old Aquaduct and the Segovia castle was the inspiration for Snow White's story. There are so much to see in this town and the delicious suckling pig is a must try.
Segovia is a beautiful city with an impressive Roman aqueduct, beautiful cathedral, and castle (the Alcazar). The city retains many medieval features, including city walls and gates. It is easy to walk to everything (except for the fact that it is very hilly).
We were in Segovia for 9 nights and would love to have stayed longer. We ate each day in Bar Socorro - owned by Avelino Garcia . Rivera, Plaza del Socorro 10. His lead waiter, Cantine, was great. Ask for him or Avelino. The food and wine are excellent
Beautiful historic city with plenty to see, a great atmosphere and plenty of places for refreshments. The architecture is lovely , the castle was stunning . We highly recommend a visit and it’s a great one night stop for those traveling from northern ports to southern Spain as it’s approx half way without the hastle of having to go into central Madrid . It was very cold in January because of its high altitude, so make sure you take cold weather clothes . But don’t let that put you off because it’s beautiful .
Segovia is beautiful! We reserved hotel for one night and had enough time to see/visit everything, took lot of pictures and enjoyed the famous pig at Jose Maria restaurant! Getting around was super easy, no car needed. There was a lot of visitors, but not crowded - benefit of traveling off season.
