Barefoot Kuata was one of my favourite resorts ever! The island is unique, the morning sunrise hike was magical and the islands around are just as beautiful. Loved the beaches and the sunset spot. Also loved the staff , I really felt part of the family! Dorms were very good, spacious and clean. The snorkel and diving with the sharks are a one time life experience!

We stayed at Sheraton Resort & Spa Takariki Island Fiji in...

We stayed at Sheraton Resort & Spa Takariki Island Fiji in early September for 6 nights with my partner. Our room had a garden view and was equipped with everything we needed, though it could use a light renovation. Housekeeping was done daily, with linen changed every three days. Complimentary water was provided at 0.5L per person per day. The resort grounds are absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the ocean and the island, especially from the dining area. The staff were always warm and welcoming. A special thank you to Irene for her hospitality and support, as well as to the recreation team and the chef for the delicious meals, which is impressive considering the challenges of island logistics. Service in the restaurants was slower than we are used to – sometimes lunch took 40 minutes to an hour – but this seems to be the island pace, so patience is needed. The all-inclusive package took us a couple of days to fully understand. Breakfast buffet was included, lunch was à la carte with a choice of two courses, and dinner offered three courses à la carte or buffet (on some days), plus the option of dining at the excellent Indian restaurant, Kukuima, which we highly recommend. The pool was great, and the highlight of our stay was the snorkelling. You can already see fish just off the beach, and if you swim a bit further out to the reef crest, the variety of marine life is amazing. It’s important to go at high tide to avoid damaging corals or getting injured. The resort also carefully manages activities depending on tide, wind, and waves, which we appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful stay with beautiful weather, lots of positive energy, and memorable experiences. We would be very happy to return.

    Fantastic accommodation and food (Sheraton).

Fantastic accommodation and food (Sheraton). Weather was perfect in June - consistently between 24-28 deg! Water temp was 27deg - no rasher needed. Very relaxing. Note a couple of things - extra activities were super expensive. Food generally quite expensive (but good) - we stayed at Sheraton - very nice - but no 'cheaper' food options (e.g. ~$20-30Aus for an entree). Highly suggest paying for the buffet breakfast - amazing! (never seen so many options!).

Food poisoning experienced by 2 of our family.

Food poisoning experienced by 2 of our family. Dirty plates, dead flies in food, bland food, long wait times for food(2.5 hours). Pool turned green and closed for 2 days. Renovation of gym whilst pool was closed. Laundry destroyed from the laundry service. Dirty and run down resort. Beach filled with seaweed with no attempt to clean it up whilst the pool was closed. Staff hit and miss. No sign of management during our stay.

I had just returned from eight fabulous days at Sheraton...

I had just returned from eight fabulous days at Sheraton Tokoriki. I cannot fault anything - A friendly arrival where we were absolutely made to feel welcome, the grounds are beautiful and clearly cared for. The food is delicious. And the facilities are great. But above all, the staff are to be commended. They are the friendliest I’ve come across anywhere in the world. I’d like to give a mention to a few of the staff who made our stay memorable. John, Vil, Epi and Vaca at the bar, Kali and Vili from activities, Mala and Pedro for their music, as well as Ana N, Mileti, and Var for the incredible hospitality. This was a reset that I cannot wait to repeat. Thank you.

You will get wet feet getting off the tender to the island so wear flip flops or sandals. The welcome made us smile and we kept on smiling the whole 4 days. We negotiated a good rate for a fishing trip, they cooked our catch for lunch with fries and salad for only $10 each £3! We visited the village on the neighbouring island and went snorkelling where the filmed castaway. The hotel will take you up to the helipad in the golf buggy for sunset cocktails.
