The room I got was next to the restaurant, which was quite noisy as it was the main restaurant at the hotel. There wasn’t much the staff could do, but they were kind enough to ask the restaurant to turn down the music a bit. But still it was not a comfortable stay, as I was looking forward to stay in my room to quietly enjoy the beauty of the Chateau. Nevertheless, the Chateau is beautiful and staff were friendly.

Wow! This is an exceptional hotel. The staff were outstanding, very friendly, helpful, and personable. The hotel itself is brand new, and every detail is exceptional. The mattress was one of the best I have ever slept on, and wonderful bedding/pillows. The bathroom is big, offering plenty of space. There's a coffee/tea station in the room, which was ideal. The breakfast was fantastic with a wealth of offerings and top-notch wait staff. Highly recommend, and look forward to returning in the future.

Great location in the old town. The manager and staff were superb! Rooms were decorated with high quality furnishings and were extremely comfortable. Made to order breakfast was phenomenal .

    If you like modern, upmarket, fairly busy towns, then Aix is for you. We were not keen as we prefer quieter, more relaxed places. But the town has some wonderful French architecture, plenty of modern shops, art galleries and a massive market that took over the whole town 2-3 times a week! We found it quite expensive for food but there was a great selection of restaurants covering many cuisines. This area is also very well served with trains and buses so it is easy to get around and the buses are very cheap! There is a large tourist information centre which we found very helpful for finding our way around.

    Aix is a beautiful town with plenty to do.

    Aix is a beautiful town with plenty to do. We particularly like the day trips to places like Martigue, Cassis, La Ciotat, Marseille. It used to be easy to go to these places easily by bus, but now Cassis and La Ciotat are complicated to get to by bus. Having a car would make it very easy to go to all the many places, like Arles, Avignon, Apte and others. All of them could be day trips. Another attraction is the proximity to the French Riviera. For example, Nice is only two hours away by car but can be reached by bus easily. Menton is the last village on the strip before Italy begins. it is a charming place.

    Just a 40 minute coach ride from Marseille Airport and you are in this beautiful historic town which just has to be explored by foot. Meander throughout the myriad of narrow streets in the old quarter. The town is also a great place to act as a base to explore further and I recommend catching the bus from here to Lourmarin, a delightful village with a castle an hour away. Also a longer ride to Avignon which is an incredible walled town full of the most amazing buildings, places of interest and history. Lastly, take the bus to Marseille for the day and explore the old port.

    Aix is a lovely city with some nice museums and not much...

    Aix is a lovely city with some nice museums and not much else to do, at least in the winter when we visited. There is a lot of shopping, but none of it interesting - mostly the same "luxury" brands you see everywhere. The outdoor market is fun, though, so we recommend planning a visit for one of the market days.

    The hotel is in a great position for visiting the old town. All the bars restaurants markets shops are all easy walking distance. The staff are all really lovely and very helpful. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that. If you're looking for a lovely, friendly comfortable base when visiting Aix then I'd say book Escaletto! I'd recommend 100%!

    Perfect spot to visit aix!!! You need to walk a little to old town (20-25 min), but it's a nice walk and the stay at Lousoan is exceptional: The hosts were more than kind, we had some great conversations. Also the room and the facilities were very beautiful, clean etc!!! The breakfast was the best we had in France!!! Thanks a lot for your hospitality!!!

    Ultra clean modern hotel walkable by 10 mins into centre of Aix. The underground secure parking was also a bonus. Staff were very courteous and the manager Corrinne Spitz was excellent front of house and dealt with an issue very professionally. She has trained a good team.

    The location of the hotel is very convenient as it is only a short walk from the centre of Aix. The room was a really good size for the three of us and we didn’t feel cramped at all. The decor was lovely too. The bathroom was a really good size.
