The city and surrounding area was simply charming.
The city and surrounding area was simply charming. We were there on market day and that was a real treat. Local shops were friendly and interesting. We visited Louis Pasteur home and had an interesting tour. Our B&B hostess recommended a local restaurant that was wonderful and we had read about a nearby castle/hotel with dining which was also way beyond expectation. Everything was a great value. The town is very walkable.

Arbois is a pretty little town set among vineyards.
Arbois is a pretty little town set among vineyards. Its main claim to fame is that it was where Louis Pasteur undertook his first experiments and the house where he lived is open to the public and well worth a visit. There are plenty of restaurants in the town and the Bistronome is one of our favourites. All serve the local wines which are not well known outside the locality and will come as a pleasant surprise.

A cute town, with plenty of restaurants and cafes.
A cute town, with plenty of restaurants and cafes. The centre of the Arbois wine area, with a good selection of wine shops if you need to buy Arbois wine. Not many 'sights' in the town, but we used Arbois as a good centre for visiting local areas, like Gorges du Herisson, Besancon, Dole - don't go there on a wet Sunday !!) and other natural sights, all of which were a delight. Our first visit to the Jura. It's beautiful, and at the time of year we visited (September) the weather was good but not too crowded with visitors - I'd imagine, based on the amount of holiday home locations we encountered, that July and August would be very very busy.

I regret not spending more time in this little town and fascinating region. There is a restaurant less than 5 minutes walking distance, Restaurant Le Bistronôme, that ought to have a Michelin star for taste and presentation (if it doesn't already)

Nice small town , very pretty with nice shops and lots of lovely wine shops especially Jacques Tissots very good wine especially the sparkling at very reasonable prices.
Staff also very helpful. Go to the JT shop not others selling his wares.
An ideal little hotel: cozy and charming, centrally located in a delightful small town, comfortable and pleasant. The room was a good size, not cramped at all; it had a small fridge to boot which was most convenient in hot summer. No a/c but there was a very nice ceiling fan which made it very pleasant once the evening cool came through the window. Staff very friendly and helpful, spoke English no problem. Excellent value for money.
The location in Arbois was wonderful, very close to the main part of the city. The apartment was very well equipped, with very modern facilities. It was very comfortable and pleasant to stay there. The owner and housekeeper were very helpful when we left some items behind and needed to return almost a week later to retrieve them. The owner was very easy to contact. The apartment was very clean.
the dinner in the hotel is fantastic. Excellent cook and service is spot on. The waiter Pierre has so much knowledges of local wine and food and very friendly. Every evening meal has different menu and delicious as well. Rooms are comfortable and relaxing atmosphere takes a lot even when the weather was not too good. walking in the woods and hills was a pleasent journey as waterfall passed by.
Very good room, probably the best bathroom facilities in all the hotels we stayed in during our tour around France, and EXCEPTIONALLY good breakfasts (the Michelin Guide describes them as 'copieux' and that's about right), The Evening Meals are not particularly exciting creations, but well prepared, tasty and satisfying. Good parking facilities
Wonderful spot right in the centre of Arbois. Beautiful and relaxed apartment with easy access to everything including a great restaurant and a cosy wine bar, all within a stone's throw. Parking is possible on the door steps (literally), which is quite practical. Excellent service!
Literally everything about Loft 58 was completely incredible. The photos didn't do justice to how magical the location and layout are, and I would unhesitatingly recommend this place to anybody staying in Arbois. I wish I had been in town for longer, and I can't wait to return.
We stayed here before many years ago, and the improvements to this hotel are impressive. The room was lovely and spacious, and we had a very good dinner and breakfast. The staff were all very friendly, and the surrounding area with the cascades is great for walking.
The whole experience was magical. From the town of Arbois, to the beautiful hotel and grounds. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious - and the service...wow - I feel like I made new friends! I'm looking forward to an extended trip some time in the future!
The owner of the property was most kind and helpful. The house was fully equipped, spacious, clean, even had a neat fireplace to enjoy Arboisienne wine around it.
A perfect stay in Arbois!
Perfect location in the center of Arbois. A very special and unique experience as the flat is part of a 700 year old wine cave. The hosts couldn’t have been nicer. Highly recommend!
Very cool and cosy place. Fully equipped with lots of extras like coffee, tea, spices etc. Perfectly situated in central Arbois. The host was very welcoming and helpful.
The breakfasts were very good. The dinner was superb, good portions and and a very good value. I was the best I had in Arbois ( and I went to some fancy restaurants. )
The room was well decorated and spacious, very pretty. It was certainly in the center of Arbois so convenient for everything, including free street parking.
