In the heart of Arles, just 650 ft from the ancient Amphitheater, Hôtel de l’Amphithéâtre is in a 17th-Century building and has a patio, luggage room and contemporary décor. I liked the atmosphere (ambiance) of the hotel, very nice decorated, very nice colors in the building, the owner was very polite. He helped me a lot because I ought to extend my stay, due to a strike of the railway staff, the staff was very polite too. I liked very much this city. I will strongly recommend my friends to visit Arles and to let themselves stay in this lovely hotel.

Hotel Constantin is a comfortable hotel set in a traditional old stone house and is located 5 minutes from the center of Arles. It offers free WiFi access and a secured private parking for motorbikes.... Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The room was so cute, and absolutely spotless. The bed was comfy and came with extra pillows and well functioning air-con - a lifesaver during the heat of summer. Everybody working or coming in/out wore masks in public spaces, which was really appreciated during this time. There were lots of books in the common spaces to read if you are bored and the breakfast looked really nice although we didn't try it. Location is great! We did not have any problem with noise and it was nice to pop out of the more touristy space. Overall great value.

These hotels in Arles are highly rated by couples: Hôtel de l'Amphithéâtre, Hôtel La Muette, and L'Hôtel Particulier.
Arles is an outstanding visit for those interested in history and heritage - wall to wall world heritage. Must sees include the Roman amphitheatre, the ancient theatre, the Alyscamps cemetery and St Trophime cloister. Quiet in January when we visited but fine by us - not many restaurants open but on the recommendation of the hotel we had a superb meal. If you are visiting by car, I recommend parking in the Central Parking and getting around on foot - most of the sites are within an easy walking tour. I recommend staying within the historic centre too.
Steeped in history with well signposted tourist spots. In the old city there is no access by car for non-residents but plenty of restaurants at all price levels. Clean streets and general “safe” feeling in the main areas.
Arles is a magnificent city. There is lots to see and plenty of places to eat (the food is excellent everywhere). This is not an apartment for sunbathers — one would need an hotel with pool for that, or a car to drive to the beach (45 mins drive!). However, there is lots to see in Arles, and Avignon, Nîmes, Béziers and evening Montpellier are close by rail, or by hire care.
If you are visiting Arles with the hope of seeing artwork by Van Gogh, you may be happy enough to see the one piece in residence at the Foundation Vincent Van Gogh. But if you are visiting Arles to see a lovely, walk-able town full of art and life you will be overwhelmed at your options. Take extra care to make a stop at La Croisiére and Atelier Luma. La Croisiére especially is a lovely spot for a cold bevvy if you are looking for kombucha, beer, snack or anything between. We only spent a weekend here, but it seemed like the perfect amount of time to get a good feel for the chill vibes of this sweet little town. ***One thing to note: If you intend to cross the Rhône at night, I would avoid using the Nouveau Pont d'Arles, as the pedestrian path is underneath and NOT LIT. Recommended only for the bold or those with lights on their phones
We chose Arles as a base for our trips around (Nimes, Pont du Gard, Arles itself, Camargues). Even if we enjoyed the visit of the city, besides the roman monuments and the museums, we found it a quite decadent city. Nimes was much better: if you want to visit both and you don't know where to stay overnight, we recommend Nimes
Lovely people. The monuments pass was great value and we went to all the included monuments quite comfortably in 1 day. Great restraunts. L'arlatan was a stunning place for drinks and dinner as was le jardin d'arte. The history in Arles which includes the Van Gough trail are all woth seeing.
Secure large parking, needed this when in a hire car. Car parked outside front door, pool out back door! Amazing for the money. Short walk to arles centre, fantastic vibe, short drive to camargue national park, (wear mosquito repellent or cover up, mosquitos there are huge and hungry ha), national park amazing, maybe pack binoculars to see the lake. Lidl and MacDonald's and lecerc relatively close. Fridge in room handy too.
