FAQs about hotels in Bordeaux

A Taste to Suit Everyone’s Palette

Raise your wine glass and toast the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. Having produced wine since the 8th century, it’s fair to say the second largest wine producer in the world is worth the trip for the vin alone. The city itself has spread outwards, rather than upwards, and the result is a very pretty town center, filled with stone mansions and terraced housing comparable to Paris.

Cultured Bordeaux is filled with museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Musee D'Aquitaine. The streets provide an equally interesting exhibition of fine architecture including the Victory Arch and the Aquitaine Bridge. On the shores of the river lies the Les Chartrons district, which is a blend of ferry boat rides, picturesque views and buzzing nightlife while the bars and cafes in the La Victoire district are frequented by students.

A tour of the famous vineyards is probably on the itinerary and this can be accomplished by visiting the wineries and châteaux privately or as part of a tour. You can also worship the wine gods at the Bordeaux Wine Festival held during the summer.

Visitors can easily make the short trip to the heart of Bordeaux from the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. With 70 hotels and bed & breakfasts available, Booking.com allows you to discover the vibrant and friendly heart of the vineyard region.

Bordeaux is a beautiful city, 3 days is probably too short if you take a day to explore the wine regions fx. St. Emilion etc. I would consider 5 days to see everything at a good pace. The city is large and even taking the bus or tram doesnt really save you much time.

Lovely city, with plenty to see and do, it is being modernised on the outskirts and the tram system is having work done but it didn't detract from the ease of getting around to see many of the attractions. The restaurant choices were vastly numerous and we found everywhere we chose to have a great choice and of good value.

Staying in the middle of the historic area is very beautiful. But I find the restaurant around the area in general is disappointing. Trying too hard with fancy exotic flavors. Otherwise it is a lovely town. Just the right size. Very nice people.

The main city centre is beautiful and worth a visit.

The main city centre is beautiful and worth a visit. There is an abundance of great bars, restaurants, cafes, tabacs and a host of attractions to see. The main part of the city centre is clean and the people in this part of the city are welcoming. However, try and avoid booking accommodation close to the main part of the city centre as the side streets in between the train station and the main part of the centre can be dangerous, especially at night.

The very modern hotel was a perfect place to enjoy Bordeaux! The tram station is right outside of the hotel, the rooms are new, not very big (but this is typical for France) and they have the shower included in the room, but everything is modern and very clean. The bed is very comfortable and the lobby area very nice. The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast: It offers fresh and delicious products that you rarely find in a hotel breakfast buffet. Definitely would book this hotel again if I would go again to Bordeaux!

We were looking for a special hotel stay for our weekend trip to Bordeaux: and Villa Victor Louis more than satisfied us! Beautiful rooms and great service at a really excellent price (in fact, we couldn't quite believe the value of our money - it felt like a 5 star hotel but at the price point of a 3 star one. The staff were really helpful with local recommendations and also allowed us to leave our luggage before and after check-out, which is always appreciated

Lovely hotel enjoyed location it was easy to go out from there. The staff when arrived were great but the lady when was leaving was very hard to understand. I loved pool was surprised that we had to pay for parking as wasn’t mentioned upon arrival. Also think it’s unfair paying tourist tax when I am a resident in France and already pay my taxes. My daughter is french she never pays it in Bordeaux!

A good mid-priced hotel for a one or two night stay, or as a base for exploring Bordeaux without the hassle of paying a fortune to park in the city centre. Very close to the tram station on line C for direct route to the centre in less than 20 minutes. Private secure free parking a bonus. Restaurant on site with reasonably priced meals and good breakfast. Staff were friendly and service was good.

Very large, quiet and comfortable studio; the bed was extremely comfortable. Great friendly helpful staff. Easily accessible by public transport; Bus G from Gare Bordeaux St Jean stops just around the corner, Tram A to the airport is a 5 min walk. Everything else in the city centre is easily walkable from the hotel.
