Hotel De La Porte Saint-Malo, Cit'Hotel le Challonge, and Brit Hotel Spa Le Connetable got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Dinan.
Beautiful medieval walled town with timbered houses and cobbled streets. Also a port on the river below the town. Plenty of bars and restaurants, but take note of their opening times as they seemed a bit random. Most of the town is walkable but some of the streets are very steep. Parking is a bit tricky although there is usually space in the Hotel de Ville car park. Trains and buses are in ready supply for further afield, which we used for Dinard/St Malo. And don't miss Dinan Lehon which is only a short walk along the riverside path.
Beautiful medieval town which had many historic buildings in great condition. Apparently it didn't get bombed during WWII. Minimal traffic, cobblestone streets, lots of gorgeous flowers on the properties. Pretty little harbor which used to be an important shipping center. Nice walking paths, excellent views from the hilltop over the river, the valley and the old buildings. Also a thriving artist community with tiny shops filled with unique wares.
Dinan is a very charming town, very easy to explore on foot, in fact, it is the way to do it, parking is not easy, but having said that, we did not use our "Parking Permit" for one of the underground car parks. Our apartment was right by the market square, making it very central, and easy to explore the little streets of the old town. Thursday is market day, well worth a visit (and a shop!). We had all our meals at home, as trying to work out when the various restaurants were open in the evening, was somewhat tricky. I would certainly recommend a visit to this lovely place.
Dinan is a beautiful medieval town, with much character, excellent restaurants and shops. Close to the coast as well. Market day is Thursdays bd well worth visiting for the fruit, vegetables and amazing fish stalls.
Dinan is beautifu, walkable and people helpful and friendly. The coast nearby spectacular. We visited in November so the town was quiet and the weather variable - cold and wet to glorious sunshine! Don't go on a Monday out of season, everything's closed. Don't forget lunch, when you can find a restaurant open, is between 12 & 2pm and dinner after 7 (best book) otherwise you go hungry! We stayed in a nearby hamlet at the Hotel La Meffrais, a lovely place only a 10 minute drive away, which was really welcoming. (breakfast's were good but evening meals not available most evenings unfortunately so stock up with fruit and cheese. (there is a little apartment with a kitchen you can book) We'll be visiting again.
I like the picturesque historic centre of Dinan with its old timbered buildings and squares. There is an upper town where our hotel (Challonge) was, and the lower town reached by cobbled walkways, where there is a river and some nice riverside restaurants. The upper town also has various restaurants, and creperies. The restaurant next to our hotel Challonge was very nice, friendly service and a good menu with seafood and all sorts of other options. It is easy to walk around the historic centre of Dinan, as it is not too big although the streets are cobbled. There are a couple of markets during the week.
Dinan
This is a perfect place to stay when visiting the old city of Dinan and the villages along the Rance. I loved the flat: compact, well-designed, and thoughtfully furnished. It was clean, really comfortable, and in walking distance of boulangeries and charcuteries, a great bio epicerie--as well as the castle and basilica and English garden. I had a wonderful month! I would return in an instant.
Dinan
Philippe and Samantha gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel at Home. What a beautiful house and the guest rooms were exquisite. They were very helpful and we enjoyed many pleasant conversations with them. We plan to come back one day soon. Everything was perfect and their lovely garden is the perfect place to relax. This was the best place to enjoy the charms of Brittany.
This was our first stop off coming off the ferry and driving down through France. It was easy to find and the underground parking made getting our luggage into the hotel straightforward. The historic centre of Dinan was close by for dinner and exploration. The room was comfortable with a good shower room. The breakfast was excellent, with hot and cold choices.
We have stayed in this hotel many times over the years both when it was a Best Western and since it became a Mercure. The hotel offers all you would expect from a Mercure hotel which we have always considered a reliable brand. Its set in a very nice area and there are numerous restaurants within 5 minutes walk. I really nice place to stay.
Roxanne and Kevin were wonderful host. Then provided a great breakfast and made us feel very welcome as it was there home. They went out of there way to satisfy all of needs and questions. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk into the medieval city so it is very convenient to walk the entire city.
Dinan
Would like to have stayed longer in such a lovely space. Very well situated for exploring Dinan old town and port. Comfortable bed with good sized shower and shower room, and nice little kitchen area with fridge for preparing a bit of food. Lots of thoughtful detail and attractive furnishings.
Lovely hotel, 30 minutes walk from the middle of Dinan. Staff are so helpful, breakfast and dinner were lovely. Perhaps a few extra dinner options would be nice but what's on offer is tasty! Pool area is good, lots of parking, new hotel area is in great condition. Very pet friendly :)
The breakfast was excellent the antique collection was very unusual our room overlooked the pedestrian road it was interesting watching the families out strolling on Sunday It was very close to restaurants at the port and in town. we could see the wall of the city from our room.
Dinan
Fabulous location within easy reach of main town. Also lots of bars and restaurants in the port area. Great to sit and have breakfast outside with view of the river. Very good restaurant food at the hotel itself. Friendly owner and staff. Easy parking nearby (in May)
Lovely room at the top of the house - beautifully modernised. Fantastic bathroom with a view. Big comfy bed. Good car parking. Easy and quick walk both into the wonderful town of Dinan and the port. Access to garden. Quiet.
Ibis hotel right in center of lovely Dinan - public parking 100 m away(€13 for 24h)- rooms comfortable, clean with A/C- breakfast good- limited by COVID measures. Carrefour right across the street
Location. Only stayed one night, but if we travel to Dinan again we would happily stay in the hotel. Was nice to have bottled water in the room on our arrival. parking in the hotel grounds.
The hotel was immediately outside the old part of town with a parking just across from the hotel, which was very convenient. Staff helpful and friendly.
