This was a wonderful place to stay with a very welcoming host. We booked the suite. It was roomy and comfortable. Breakfasts were tasty and our host cooked a delicious dinner for us on one of the nights we were there. A true gem!

What a delightful, modern hotel beside the canal outside the walled city of Dinan! The canal area is picture-postcard perfect. Our room was clean and comfortable, with the added conveniences of electric window shades, spacious shower, and a room safe. We made good use of the hotel's robust spa. Had the weather been just-a-little warmer, we'd have availed ourselves of the outdoor pool, as well. The buffet breakfast was both diverse and delicious, with a wide array of tasty offerings. The staff could not have been friendlier, nor more helpful. A special shout-out to Bruce, who, that evening, was on-duty at both the Front Desk and behind the bar when we decided upon a nightcap. He makes a mean Old Fashioned, shared perceptive stories of his own travels, and provided us with many helpful (and appreciated) suggestions. He's a credit to the Mercure Dinan team!

This is very much a "boutique" non chain hotel owned and operated by a young couple. All interaction with the two partners was fantastic. Extremely friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend people consider staying here instead of the bigger chains. The room was a very decent size, the breakfast was just great with many home made items. This is simply a great place to stay. Parking is abundant in front on the street (diagonal) and two large lots across the street. There was also free parking a bit further away.

    It was a good choice for an overnight stay before getting...

    It was a good choice for an overnight stay before getting morning ferry from St Malo. Much better, and different to, the chain hotels available in St Malo itself. Very reasonably priced. Only 20-30 minutes to get to port. It's in a countryside setting with large garden and terrace area. 5 minutes from main road. Large restaurant serving midday meals and open some evenings. Had evening meal there as well as continental breakfast in the morning. Friendly and helpful staff who speak some English. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Room had a velux roof window so didn't really have a garden view as advertised - unless you were 6ft tall! Only slight negative was the external staircase to get to bedrooms. Would stay there again though.
