The beach and bar area was lovely. The shopping precint and cinema is next to the hotel. We went to visit the old U-Boat pens and museum which were very accessible. Our room over looked the pens. You can walk around the old pens and there is rooftop access on top of the pens and fortified lock so you get a panoramic view from both sides of the harbour. The submarine visit in the museum is excellent.
We enjoyed our stay; the room was fantastic inclusieve the terras. Nathalie, the landlady, is super! Friendly, helpfull, getting our breakfast ready early in the morning. Jam, cheese, fresh bread , coffee,… Highly recommanded and at a 9 min walking distance from the GR34 Thank you Nathalie for being the perfect host 😊
Where the apartment is, is a little seaside resort that has a number of restaurants and bars that cater for everyone. There are a few shops and one supermarket all in close proximity. The beaches are safe, clean and just beautiful. The sites in Saint Nazaire are approx a 15-20 minute drive and are worth a visit.
The port area was very interesting and the walks along the beach front were great. There were lots of beaches with plenty of room for everyone. There was a lot to see along the coast. The historic fortresses etc were of interest as were the several art installations, especially the sea serpent at St Brevin.
A good place to eat is near Place du Commando by the beach - it is called something like "Deshydrates", sells lots of good beers and serves some really nice short crust pizza type things called Breihzflammes. Superb. Visit the market hall, near the town centre. This a must if you want to try out some good, local, fresh produce. Prices can be a little high for meat and fish but hey, its all good stuff. If you want to hire a bike, go to City Bike, opposite the market hall. Don't go to the 'official' hire place near the station as the staff are rude and they expect you to print off a bank statement as proof of ID just so you can ride their precious bikes. City Bike has a really nice owner and rents out good bikes at a reasonable price. I totally recommend. For great beaches, go to Fort de L'eve and Monsieur Hulot, about 20 mins from St Naz by bus, or maybe a 30 min bike ride. Pornichet beach is nice but it gets super busy at peak summer times. Le Croisic is well worth a visit for a nice seaside stroll, and has many nice restaurants and shops. I recommend getting the train here.
There are some hidden beaches there that are not the easiest to find, but its definitely worth it. It is amazing. These are for those who like to chill and swim, in peace with a beautiful view. Also some other beaches where you can find bars, restaurants and playgrounds right next to the beach. I would highly recommend it to families, friends, couples. There are a lot of things to do for everyone while it is not crowded (that is probably one of the best thing about it).
Friendly staff, very accommodating, room was clean, maybe the decor needs updating but otherwise very functional. Good shower and well laid out breakfast. Not a luxury hotel so do not expect the Four Seasons... but very good for what you are paying for and very good location near a public carpark which is free from 19:00Hrs till 08:00 Hrs and you get one hour free so effectively free from 6pm till 8am, also loved the fact that they supported the homeless during the Lockdown for Covid-19. Worth the stay to support them.
The staff was accommodating, friendly. The room was clean and shower was neat. The hotel was close to a shopping mall, restaurants. There was a big parking lot to park your car. Questions written to the hotel where answered quickly and thoroughly.
The room was very clean, the bed was very confortable. Simple hotel room but with all things needed. The location was good, it is a bit far from the center but next to a bus stop so it is easy to reach.
Extra space in the room. Very welcoming manager. Very quiet neighborhood. Simple and efficient hotel with a comfortable room for a nice stay at a very reasonable cost. Great value for the money.
amazing historical location right on the beach. beautiful natural paths over the cliffs right out of the hotel for a walk. the sound of the crashing waves from our room.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check in early which was great. The room was really clean and breakfast was good.
Saint-Nazaire
Room was good size Bed was ok Parking sinde the plot I realised I need an apartment at the beach and not an apart hotel :)
The staff was great and the breakfast decent for a French hotel - more savory food would even be better
Saint-Nazaire
The location, hotel clean, staff very friendly, very well run.our teenage boys loved the swimming pool !!
The hotel in a good location just opposite train station
Saint-Nazaire
The room is decorated in the fashion of well-known chain-hotels (two to three stars), which for us means functional, no bad hygiene surprises, but with space reduced to the logical minimum and not quite cosy. The room was very clean indeed and in the kitchenette it was possible to prepare easy meals. All electronic appliances were new. The hotel is approximately 40 minutes drive away from many different local attractions. We were happy about the free and safe parking as well as the friendly English-speaking personal. The room was fine and good for resting after a day out at the beach or in some of the marvellous towns in the area, but I would recommend it only for short stays.
Saint-Nazaire
Fridge. Great breakfast. Good location and parking. Good staff. Near beach and attractions
