Beautiful and historic country house-style and spa within easy reach of Stratford-upon-Avon. Staff were lovely, facilities, including pool, steam, sauna and gardens were great, and breakfast was hearty. There's also a beautiful little church on the grounds where Shakespeare is believed to have been married. All in all, a fab little mini-break. Would definitely return!

Traditional pub on the village green. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious with a nice ensuite. The food available was amazing and very tasty, both dinner and breakfast were really good . The owners and staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning when in the area

Alcester itself is a delightful village a mini Stratford on Avon without the crowds. Lovely old main street with old buildings and church. The Alcester museum previously visited was very informative. Excellent coffee shop Chapter 23 in the main street

A quaint and friendly village with wonderful walks in the nature reserve along the river. Shopping facilities were great although most shops were small but had a great variety. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower was OK. The check in and out was easy, staff very friendly and helpful. I had an evening meal and breakfast in the pub restaurant, reasonably priced and food good. Altho the pub was noisy and lively the noise didn't travel to the bedroom areas. I didn't see much of the area as it was just an overnight stay but I would go back again. Yes the furbishing's were a little dated, but the staff were lovely, the place was clean and comfortable, and the food good which is the way I prefer it.

It is a perfect location for getting to Stratford Upon Avon.

It is a perfect location for getting to Stratford Upon Avon. Do not miss Bidford Upon Avon which is a short drive from Alcester and boasts 'The Big Meadow', which is excellent for dog walks and has great recreational area for children. Nice local Village tea room as well.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a lovely ambience with a place to sit both before and after the meal. I was disappointed to find no information in the room relating to wifi or breakfast times. Consequently we were late for breakfast but we were still served. There was a music duo playing which apparently happens once a fortnight on a Friday. I would definitely reccomend this place.

Its not the ritz, its a fabulous fun hotel for normal folk wanting great value and great food. The staff care, they help, they want you to be happy. Great hotel/pub/restaurant/party venue, give it a go.

Food, drink, service and experience were all excellent. Great selection of dishes from a varied menu. Staff were attentive and super helpful. Convenient location to visit Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick and Alcester. Room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The thing that sets The Blue Boar above others is the live music which creates a unique ambience. Kudos to Steven for making our stay so special

Lovely homely place situated in Alcester with some great pubs/restaurants within walking distance and Waitrose is just across the road. Lots of places to visit nearby....Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and a large shopping centre called Kingfisher Shopping Centre in Redditch....really enjoyed our 4 days and were sorry to leave
