I absolutely loved my stay in this hotel! The room decoration was beautiful and unique. The room we had was spacious and spotlessly clean. I really appreciated the free public parking right behind the site, which was very convenient. Eveyone was extremely dog-friendly and welcoming! The bed was hands down that best I've ever slept in, and the pillows were so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this hotel!

The room was beautiful, as was the bathroom - it had a gorgeous claw foot bath! There were so many extra touches, such as a bowl of sweets, a coffee machine a fridge and an iron/iron board and toiletries incase you forgot something of your own; the list goes on!!

Ashington is going through a regeneration and now has a brand-new train station with Free Parking. I have recently invested in Ashington and I find the people very friendly and helpful. You have some great places to visit Wood Ho Collery and of course there is a vast array of different beaches to visit. West reference for the train station you can get directly to Ashington from Newcastle for only about £2 minus cheaper because I have a real Card but the reference purposes is called the Jubilee line excellent service.

Ashington is excellent location when going to other places easy access to motorway and B roads . Ashington itself does not have any quality restaurants . The Portland Hotel serves good quality food throughout the day . The town is undergoing development and there is a new modern well designed Asda .

A good base with shops nearby - but also close to beaches, historical castles & gardens. Lindesfarne, Hadrian's Wall, & Vindolanda not too far away & much more civilised drivers than in the south.

Like the Woodhorn Museum, lots of near by beaches. Good shopping facilities in Ashington and nearby. Lots of free parking close to the town centre. Closer links to Newcastle with the opening of the rail link, very handy for shopping farther afield.

Not much to do in the area but enjoyed a trip to Morpeth.

Not much to do in the area but enjoyed a trip to Morpeth. Kids would have liked a wavy beach but I guess you can travel to others along the coast for that. We stayed in Spital a few years ago and that was very wavy.

What are mostly liked about the trip to Ashington now is that there is a mainline train station from Newcastle upon Tyne all the way through to Ashington Northumberland this provides quick and easy transportation for visiting the area whilst it’s for work or visiting family and friends a half moon is on a bus Transportation route so this is very helpful also and has a nice big car park for anyone who wishes to use this place to park their car I noticed dogs are allowed as well so this is very useful and there’s nice parks and river walks along there also
