Harbour Inn, hotel in Breage

Overlooking Portleven Harbour, The Harbour Inn offers spacious rooms with en suite facilities. With free parking and free Wi-Fi, there is also a traditional restaurant, a cosy bar and sea views.

The staff went over and above to make me feel welcome given I attended alone. The breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed taking a coffee out and overlook the harbour. The housekeepers went out of their way to ensure I had everything I required.

Tyluna Cornish Cabin, hotel in Breage

Featuring garden views, Tyluna Cornish Cabin provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 14 km from St Michael's Mount.

The cabin is adorable, exactly as pictured. Having space to store and prep food was useful, as well as an outdoor area that felt separate from the host’s house. The bathroom was big and had a separate toilet. The bed was so comfy and I had the best sleeps. The paddock next door has cows so you really feel ‘out in the country’ while still being a short drive to tourist destinations. Instructions for arrival and check in were straightforward and easy to follow. Communication from the hosts was great and helped everything go smoothly.

You get the whole flat which has been decorated to a good standard, a very quiet area, if a bit out of the way. The host’s communication was good and we were informed of everything we needed to know via texts from the host.

The manager was very helpful when I phoned ahead for food.

The manager was very helpful when I phoned ahead for food. The staff were very nice and the lady who done the breakfast was also extremely pleasant. The small gripes I have are mainly to do with the building (the plumbing), but it is old so I'm being picky. It is a very pleasant pub

Good location, easy access to most parts of South Cornwall. Staff really friendly and happy to chat and give advice. Nice breakfast, well served and speedy. Had a look round local church guided by church warden who lived next door and opened it up. Dinner very good and every table cleaned and sanitised no worries on that.

Can't say too much about the village - didn't really explore. But it's close to Helston and therefore close to Flambards. So a useful location for us. The church looked pretty impressive for the size of the village. And the Queens Arms Pub is great. I'd recommend the location for exploring that part of Cornwall.

On arrival at the Queens Head we were welcomed and the procedures explained (due to COVID). The entrance to the two rooms is next to the the kitchen and very tired and dusty. Our room (Bumblebee) was clean and recently redecorated, the furniture was tatty and arranged differently to the photos on the website. The bathroom had been redecorated and was functional but the grouting was discoloured and the floor looked dirty. The bed and bedding was all fresh and clean. We had booked a table for our evening meal before arrival as it was during the governments, eat out to help out, I don’t think we would have got a table if we had not as it was very busy. My wife asked for the passcode for the inclusive WiFi and was told just to use the cloud. We tried to connect many time and with four different devices but could not. Unfortunately the staff could not offer any advice therefore, we could not access the advertised internet access. Furthermore the phone signal is poor, clearly the venue have no control over this. Parking was difficult at times as the pub has an attached campsite. In the mornings, (on both days) when leaving our room for breakfast it was a little difficult as the kitchen delivery, including the frozen food, would be left outside the kitchen door blocking the way. It was still there when leaving over a hour later. Breakfast was a little lacking, I am a vegetarian and was not catered for. The lady serving us could only offer everything but the single sausage and piece of bacon. On our second morning we were greeted by the lady cleaning the toilets who told us that she would just change her gloves before doing our breakfast. I believe we have basic expectations when going away but we were both quite disappointed with our stay. It is very sad as this could be an amazing place.
