Situated by Penzance beach, and 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre, The Queen's Hotel boasts a restaurant with views across Mount's Bay, St. Breakfast selection was good with very polite/helpful staff on hand. Room was good and bed comfortable. Didn't have a chance to sample dinner/or the bar as I was visiting friends in the area.
Set in Penzance, The Fountain Tavern features a bar. With free WiFi, this 3-star hotel offers luggage storage space. A buffet, Full English/Irish or vegetarian breakfast can be enjoyed at the... Our lovely host Raymond told us all sorts of interesting things about the past of the inn and of Penzance. And he told us how and were to find the grave of the last pirate of Cornwall. We went to see it, in a quiet little churchyard - it's complete with the skull and crossbones sign. A fantastic little outing we'd never have found without his advice. He also advised us on local ale to try, and presented me with a bottle of Speckled Hen. This review is written independently of that gift, though!
The unique and original rooms at the 17th-century Artist Residence are each uniquely designed with some rooms decorated in an eclectic, rustic style and decorated by local and British artists. Dinner was exceptional great, breakfast was clever arranged, veggies had a lot to chose from and all in all everyone was really nice, attentive and very happy to have us as guests, that is the feeling one needs when one travels. Great experience- always love to come back again.
With wonderful views across Penzance Bay, Hotel Penzance offers award-winning cuisine and boutique bedrooms. Guests can relax in the swimming pool in the Mediterranean-style gardens. The staff were warm and welcoming. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a beautiful sea view. There was excellent sound-proofing between the rooms. The hotel is full of character, we had a wonderful sea view, and downtown Penzance is just five minutes walk away. Breakfast, included in our room rate, was excellent.
The Union Hotel is in the centre of Penzance. A 5-minute walk from the sea, the 17th-century building houses Hamilton’s Restaurant and also Nelson’s Bar, where there is free WiFi. I would say it is perfect place to stay when you are about to travel to Cornwall.

A good centre for seeing South Cornwall. We had lovely views of St Michael's Mount from our room. Transport is excellent and there is lots to do in the area, particularly if you like gardens and art galleries! A good range of restaurants and I found people friendly and helpful. I love Tate St Ives, the building lone is worth visiting let alone the lovely artwork. Trengwainton Garden a delight as was St Michael's Mount. Planning on returning later in the year.
Great place, very good for exploring the surrounding areas, good transport connections. Lots of restaurants & pubs. Fairly quiet when we went. Good selection of shops in the high street. Nice walk along the seafront to St. Michaels Mount (2.5 miles). When we went early June, some restaurants were shut in the evenings but that seemed to change later in the week. Recommend The Dock pub for nice food.
I liked the walkability to neighbouring villages like Mousehole (Rockpool cafe) and around town. Found good pubs on Chapel Street, one with Celtic music. Would recommend trip to Carn Euny (prehistoric settlement) and Minack Theatre. Rowena Cade designed it and worked with construction crew....amazing story. They are working on the seaside pool renovation on the promenade in Penzance for kids and St Michael's Mount interesting too. Seaside Restaurant (Godolphin ) in Marizion with lovely views.
As well as visiting St Michaels Mount, Penzance has lots to offer in the busy town, it's harbour and nearby beach resorts. Plenty of places to eat. Central for visiting North and South Cornwall very easily.
I am biased , Been coming here every once in a while since 1971! Great fun to potter around. Great base for a Cornish holiday. Lots of good food from convenience to high end with everything in between. Ideally you need a car (book ahead) Holiday on a Bus Pass? Absolutely, but you need to plan what you want to do. Plenty of country buses, taxis and even local short haul trains.
Penzance is a nice town, ideally located to explore that part of Cornwall with good train and bus links. Numerous pubs and eateries. Quite quiet and we felt safe walking around. One evening we are at the Dolphin Tavern, which I would highly recommend. Stayed at the Hotel Penzance - very comfortable hotel, perfectly located. It's very easy to get around both Penzance and surrounding areas.

I stayed 8 nights in a female dorm and this place is fabulous. Very clean, great kitchen with eating area and another common room also. The owner is friendly, helpful and professional. Clever system for storing your foodstuffs. Other guests were interesting. Great location, less than 10 min walk to city centre and bus stop to Land's End in the street. I felt very safe as a solo female traveller. I would definitely stay here again if I go return to penzance.

Our stay was absolutely fabulous! The premises were very clean, service was excellent and the staff were fantastic!! The food was excellent. Nigel is an excellent cook. I would highly recommend Kings Arms!! It is located in the beautiful village of Paul, which is located just outside of Penzance. You just have to stay there! Use it a base to see all there is in that end of Cornwall.

This B&B was a great find. The owner was very accommodating, and friendly. The ensuite room was a great size, clean and comfortable with a great bay window to enjoy a night cap! Breakfast was delicious, it’s in a central location to Penzance and parking is found along the street, but get there early as it can fill up. We would stay here again on our next Cornwall trip!

Access to the road network is easy making Glen Afton an ideal base for exploring the Penwith peninsula. Our room was light and airy. Breakfast was good. Our host was knowledgeable about the local sites and gave us some useful sightseeing tips.
