Booking.com need to realiise that Caston is a tiny village,...

Booking.com need to realiise that Caston is a tiny village, with one main street called The St. one church and one pub, a village hall and a primary school and no shops. Sending repeated emails encouraging visitors to book a taxi or hire a car to be able to "Explore Caston" was totally inappropriate and incredibly annoying. This is the fault of Booking.com web site systems but there needs to be some flag that can be set for tiny locations where the email offers are only going to annoy visitors. Otherwise you could be setting up false expectations.

Great Central base, but be prepared for an hour or so drive to the coast. You may want to be closer with children. Otherwise if you want peaceful countryside, walks and gardens with traditional pubs you have it right here

A quiet but friendly place with delicious free range eggs and other local produce readily available. There was a supermarket and smaller shops a short drive away. A good location to use as a base for visiting places of interest.
