Set in private grounds, the 17th-century Eshott Hall offers luxury bedrooms with period features. I hesitate to post this review for fear that it will drive up demand and prices, making it more difficult to book in the future. The Hall, the grounds, the facilities, the accommodation, the food (breakfast and evening), and the value for money were first-class. However, if it's possible, the staff exceeded that level. From our experience, the staff comprises mostly local people (a bonus for me, being local myself) who are well trained and "correct", but who open up warmly if encouraged.
With beautiful views of rural Northumberland, this 4-star bed and breakfast offers bright, spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi. The cottage is 2 miles from the A1, set between Morpeth and Alnwick. The breakfast was excellent and you could not wish for nicer friendlier hosts
The woodland setting was very nice for our dog. However the food offering fell very short of expectation. Cold food, cold plates and dishes which were described in a very "gourmand" style on the menu but didn't play out in reality. The dining area in the "ballroom" had no ambience whatsoever. Bedroom very much in need of refurb to bring it up to date
Very comfortable room with 2 arm chairs to sit and enjoy the lovely view Plenty of drinks options in the room Hosts very helpful allowing our little dog to stay and offering help with lost car keys Stairs quite steep to our room
After a difficulty with the bedroom electrics on the first night which the staff were unable to resolve that evening despite trying very hard. Electrician sorted the problem next morning. The manager handled the query extremely well with a smile and a fair reduction of cost, sweetened with a gift at dinner.
Everything was wonderful, from booking to leaving, and we could have stayed longer it was such a lovely experience. The staff were amazing and the chef was very accommodating as he made a special vegetarian meal for me. Our two Rottweiler's were made a fuss of also, which just made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return.
Very quiet countryside area, good place to relax and really get away from the hustle and bustle. Eshott Hall is a lovely venue for events and Northumberland Cottage B&B run by Graham and Mel is the perfect place to stay. There is a pub, but we brought dinner asking with us. There's several things to see around, but mainly this is the place to chill, sleep late and get cozy indoors with a cuppa and views over the fields especially when the days are windy outside!
Gorgeous hotel. Our room was amazing, as was breakfast. We didn’t have dinner at Eshott Hall, although we did eat at the treehouse restaurant (Alnwick gardens) if you eat there, bare in mind it is a £50 return taxi ride. Couldn’t fault the hotel at all. We had an amazing stay and we will definitely be back!!!!
