Rymmon Retreat was a memorable stop on our three week trip through Scotland. The location was perfect (we went hoping to glimpse the Northern Lights but rain won that battle). It was starkly isolated as you would hope a property in Orkney would be but spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The sunset from the deck was spectacular (pre-rain) and we left regretting that we only had the one night. It definitely felt like "home on the road". Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Breakfast was great. Location was coinvent to shopping and local restaurants. Parking was a little hard. Public car park nearby, but had to get free ticket every hour till 5PM, then free all night. Out the next morning. Small town and able to get our clothes washed in a nearby laundromat.

Our visit to the Orkneys on our adventure through Scotland wasn't planned, but with a last minute booking we were lucky enough to be able to spend a couple nights at the wonderful Orkney Hotel! This historic inn far exceeded our expectations. We particularly loved spending the evenings in the bar tasting some of the literal thousands of bottles of whiskey decorating the walls. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the Scottish breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend a stay at the Orkney Hotel on your next visit!

Excellent breakfast. I only had the fruit and Greek yogurt (and good coffee) but that was exactly what I wanted. The host was very helpful with our early leaving and storage of our bikes.

We enjoyed the location.

We enjoyed the location. We really enjoyed going down to the local beach. Being an island distances were relatively short to get to anywhere. We so loved the birdwatching. Saw a white tailed eagle, a cuckoo, a short eared owl, hundreds of oyster catchers! Curlews, Fulmars, black capped stonechat to name a few. Also hares. There were lots of visitor attractions such as Skara Brae/ Sea stacks/ Yesnaby rugged coat/ Beautiful beaches/Unstan cairn/ Hoxa tapestry centre/Broch of Gurness and many more. Had an amazing meal at the Merkister Hotel with its lovely surroundings. Also amazing home made sour dough pizzas at the Evie Bakehouse.

Loved the location, It was close to the beach and some lovely walks. The cottages was spotless we had everything we needed, the Pizza retaurant and bakery was very convenient being right next door. We had a wonderful break and would highly recommend staying at Eviedale we certiuanly will be back ! Thank you Phillipa and Ian for yhour hospitality and warm welcome. Ally and Jason xx
