This is a wonderfully light and spacious first floor apartment with views down Lanchester High Street. It’s quiet, clean and comfortable. Great for friends or family with 2 double beds in one large room and the other a double en-suite. Living/kitchen area stylish and plenty of seating. Highly recommended.

This was a great little English inn and the owners, Sonia and Ian were probably the best hosts that i have ever come across. They could not do enough to help us when they found out that we had booked the wrong accommodation in the wrong place. We only stayed one night but the food and our room where excellent..

We liked the way the staff were very friendly. The place was clean even though they were doing renovations. Restaurant and Bar staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They were happy to chat when not busy. The breakfast was really nice. Lots of choice and very well prepared. Tasted delicious. The Receptionist on the evening we arrived gave us some history of the Hotel which was interesting. We will be going back to stay as it is also a good base for the area. We really enjoyed our stay.

Small village with many types of shops you probably wouldn't find in a town. Lots of eateries including Greek and Italian restaurants (both excellent), takeaway Indian and Pizza, pubs, cafes, ice cream bar, fish and chip shop, grocery shops (2) one with Post Office, hairdresser, beauty, dog groomer, butcher, cake shop, hardware, flowers and plants, Charity shop. Probably missed some!! Could not believe how much was going on in the village. Also a short distance from Durham, Beamish and other areas of interest.

The Hosts were so helpful without being overpowering.

The Hosts were so helpful without being overpowering. For breakfast the the hostst directed us to a garden centre, on the edge of Lanchester, just a few minutes by car, well worth the visit - breakfast excellent. The apartment is comfortable, clean and well furnished. A couple of minutes walk will take you to a Spar shop should you need any food or drink. Overal an excellent stay and if we were visiting Lanchester again we would not hesitate to re-book.

Not far from Lanchester is the Park and Ride to Durham.

Not far from Lanchester is the Park and Ride to Durham. Beamish Open Air Museum is a short drive. Ravellos Italian Restaurant and The King's Head are good places in Lanchester to eat in the evening. There are several areas to walk along such as the old railway track which is now a public footpath.
