We booked very late. The price was very reasonable so we didn’t really know what to expect. We were delighted. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a very good size. Our dog was made to feel very welcome and had treats etc left in the room for him. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

The Lansdowne is unbelievable value for money! It’s a fabulous find. All the staff I came across were delightful. My single room on the second floor with a great view of the sea was more than I expected - an extra sitting area, comfortable bed, good quality, appealing furnishings, bathroom not recently renovated but perfectly clean with everything you need including a comfortable bath and fluffy white towels. The multiple lounge areas and bar are inviting, a lovely spot to relax with a drink or a chat or quiet read. The restaurant 1920 was also a great experience. Good food, nice setting, friendly good service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The annexe is well equipped, with parking and Wi-Fi.

The annexe is well equipped, with parking and Wi-Fi. For Cyclists and Walkers it is well situated for the South Downs Way, Cuckoo Trail, NCN Eastbourne to Lewes, and other NCN routes. For families Drusillas is close by as are many other attractions. For peace and quiet it satisfies very well !! Chickens, Ducks, Ponies, and other small farm animals abound, but are very quiet as we didn’t really hear them at all. Fresh farm eggs if you want them too !! We would definitely stay again and hopefully soon.

No comments about Polegate because the Berwick Inn ISN'T THERE. It is at Berwick which is some miles The post code given was the correct one but landed us in the countryside so we had difficulties in getting to the Berwick Inn.

Polegate is great for access to the beaches at Eastbourne...

Polegate is great for access to the beaches at Eastbourne and Pevensey. Excellent retail parks and large supermarkets within easy reach - 10 minute drive away. Sovereign Harbour retail, restaurant and Marina nearby. So much to see and do in surrounding area, makes Polegate a great base. Peaceful, countryside location - with lots of walks and trails.

Beautiful quiet setting, we saw and heard nobody while we were there which is perfect for us. We wanted somewhere that would be accessible to Eastbourne which wasn't a hotel and this cabin was just perfect. Gorgeous interior, lovely area (the garden center next door is to die for!), beautiful beds and a hot tub!

Location is good we thought it was in Polegate but Berwick Inn is in Berwick by the rail crossing. So pretty quiet and rural. Nature park reservoir just up the road. You do hear trains but they didn't seem to run during the night so slept soundly. Room and shower were of a high standard.

Service was excellent. We missed the ferry crossing and didn't get to the hotel until 5am. The hotel staff were amazing and opened up for us so we could get some sleep and a good breakfast that morning. The bed was amazingly comfortable too!
