In the heart of the market town of Romsey The White Horse is just a few yards from Romsey Abbey. This 14th-century boutique hotel offers a brasserie and bright, elegant rooms. The breakfast was fantastic and really good value Good shower, comfortable bed Very quiet room
Mortimer Arms Inn is located in Romsey within the New Forest. This traditional inn has a bar and a restaurant with a patio. Mortimer Arms has had a great refurb., our bedroom overlooked the gardens at the front of the property, which were in full very colorful bloom, our room was spacious, spotless and dog friendly Also we liked the information received from the staff that there would be a late night function and there could be noise, yes the party was on but we didn’t hear a thing Great breakfast with lots of choice, friendly and efficient staff
Boasting fantastic food, wines chosen by an award-winning expert sommelier, and luxury rooms, this gastropub is located in the old market town of Romsey. The pub was lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was great. Short stroll into the town. We were lucky with the weather which helped.
Ranvilles Farm House features accommodations with free WiFi in Romsey, practically located 1.3 mi from Broadlands and within 19 mi from Winchester and Salisbury. Easy check in. Self catering apartment. Location was very near Peppa pig World. It is also near (25mins) to Calshot Beach and the trails at New Forest.
A 15-minute walk from Romsey town center and Romsey Abbey, Richmond Lane Guest House - AA Accredited has a spacious garden with comfortable seating and sun loungers. Everything provided so we could make our own breakfast. Bathroom is very small, but at least we had our own private one. Very quiet safe location with parking available.
Offering garden views, Winterberry Barn is an accommodations located in Romsey, 3.7 mi from Broadlands and 6.8 mi from Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park. Lovely holiday cottage. Impressive high-spec finish. Stylish decor. Spotlessly clean. Well-equipped. Especially liked the welcome pack and gifts for us and the kids. Felt very looked-after like being in a five star hotel! Nice complementary toiletries. Hosts were very friendly. Nice quiet countryside location. All in all a very relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend.
We used this location as an overnight stop on the way west. I don't like to drive too far in a day and find a stopover very relaxing. It adds an extra day to your holiday if planned well. The Cromwell Arms was an excellent choice. Romsey gave us the chance to stop at one National Trust property, Hinton Ampner, on the way down from London and another, Mottisfont, the next morning before continuing our main journey. Turned a travelling day into two days holiday.
Romsey is a very interesting and historic town, with an Abbey and surrounding places placed. Hillier Gardens and The National Trusts Mottisfont is very nearby. Well worth a visit. Good train service and Station nearby, good bus or train service to Southampton. The single traveller will feel quite comfortable. Festivals of interest ‘ The Beggers Fair’ an excellent music festival in the summer. Christmas lights earlier than the nearby cities. Paultons Park great for all the family only 3 miles away.
A lovely market town with a good selection of shops and eating places. Easy to park and not ripoff prices. The department store was excellent as was a lovely cafe come wine bar with super nice homemade cakes.
Rooms are smaller than expected - a double executive is about the size of one of the same type in London and at about 8.30 pm the woman next door knocked on our door to tell us that we are too loud when we were talking normally, so the noise should be considered. Other then that, the bed was comfortable and the room clean and we enjoyed a great dinner on their spacious terrace. The breakfast was also great.
Visited Romsey one evening of our stay and wandered around. An attractive centre with interesting range of buildings. Unfortunately didn't have enough time to explore in more detail in the day time, so hope to come back! Easy to get to Portsmouth, Poole, Southampton and New Forest as well Ate in The Old House at Home - a lovely characterful Fullers pub with an interesting menu. Food was very tasty and plentiful.
We had planned on staying in the New forest but found everything decent already booked so I saw Romsey wasn't far and booked into a hotel there. A very pleasant and picturesque drive from the heart of the new forest to the hotel only took about 20 minutes. We didn't spend any time in Romsey town centre so I can't really comment but the surroundings are lovely. Also we found that because of its proximity to the M3 we were able to get back to Swindon in a hour which was helpful
