In the heart of the market town of Romsey The White Horse is just a few yards from Romsey Abbey. This 14th-century boutique hotel offers a brasserie and bright, elegant rooms. The breakfast was fantastic and really good value Good shower, comfortable bed Very quiet room
Boasting fantastic food, wines chosen by an award-winning expert sommelier, and luxury rooms, this gastropub is located in the old market town of Romsey. Everything! Car park, very comfortable bed and cosy room, food was excellent couldn’t fault it. Staff were lovely. WiFi was great and there was a desk in my room to work at. Lovely pub and rooms
Ranvilles Farm House features accommodations with free WiFi in Romsey, practically located 1.3 mi from Broadlands and within 19 mi from Winchester and Salisbury. Easy check in. Self catering apartment. Location was very near Peppa pig World. It is also near (25mins) to Calshot Beach and the trails at New Forest.
Located in Romsey, near Broadlands, Plaza Theater and Romsey Abbey, The Palmerston Rooms features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden. The salmon-and-egg breakfast was a healthy alternative to the customary English breakfast. The place was quiet for the central location.
The hotel accommodation was okay but was in need of a refresh to the room decor. The menu was limited and expensive and the size and quality of the portions was poor. There are many gopd pubs and inns around the area that serve excellent food at reasonable prices.
It is a wonderful and beautiful market town, we attended an amazing concert in Romsey Abbey. I suggest, if you do see a concert advertised in the Abbey attend it is wonderful. Our accommodation at The Palmerston Rooms was excellent too. XO
Romsey is a delightful historic town with easy acces to the New Forest. We visited the abbey, King John's House and tea rooms - an interesting Tudor house with reconstruction of the gunshop that was there in the last century. We also visited the Romsey Signal Box on their open day and learnt how signalmen changed the points - even taking part! Nearby to Romsey is Mottisfont Abbey and gardens - National Trust property. We had been before but were too early for the wonderful roses in the walled garden so went back to see them - unfortunately this time a bit too late! We also visited Sir Harold Hillier gardens - again the flowers were a little past their best but worth a visit and a walk around, especially by the pond. I can recommend Annie's Tea Rooms in Kimbridge for a lovely meal. We had the local Kimbridge trout baked in lemon and herbs and with almonds.
Lovely country town, and very centrally placed for lots of places nearby like Morrisfont, Christchurch, Salisbury etc. The food was so good at the hotel we didn't have much room for lunch. Area round Romsey is great for walking, especially along the rivers.
we had a garden room and i am sure in the summer it would be a wonderful little haven i could not fault the hotel everyone made us feel welcome, I have a food tolerance and whatever we asked for they provided many thanks to the staff
Visited twice, both times were in the evening so shops were closed. Wanted to visit the church but ran out of time. Ate at the Phoenix pub; food was very good and reasonably priced. Would have tried the Parisienne, which looked interesting, but it was closed when we wanted to eat. Romsey is quite small and takes about 20minutes to walk through. Parking in the winter if free after 4pm which is worth knowing.
The salmon-and-egg breakfast was a healthy alternative to the customary English breakfast. The place was quiet for the central location.
The host was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Magnificent grounds
