Tudor Cottage, a property with a garden, is located in Romsey, 8.4 miles from The Mayflower Theatre, 8.7 miles from Southampton Guildhall, as well as 14 miles from Ageas Bowl. We were self-catering so the breakfast question is not relevant. The format of the question about transport did not allow me to give a correct reply. There were three of us of whom two travelled mainly by train and one travelled by car. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were delighted with the property and its character. It also is a perfect location for access to the town. Romsey is also a great base for visits in this area.

Ours was a fleeting visit lasting just 2 hours. The principal purpose was to visit Romsey Abbey on a Sunday morning for one of its engaging Church Services. The Abbey itself is enormously impressive and well worth a visit. The Town was buzzing on the morning we were there with lively street markets. There's plenty of history to enjoy and some interesting architecture. I can't comment on eating places but we are definitely keen to return and only sorry that it has taken us so long to visit the Town for ourselves.
Super dog friendly and a fab breakfast Great location High end furnishings. Friendly staff.. My dog is friendly and loves meeting new folk. As do I the staff went out of their way to be nice to us Lovely dog walk relatively close by.. Head out to the station and go under tunnel.. Stream and fields
Our visit was a delightful end to a European adventure, our last stop before a flight home from Heathrow. We stayed at The Palmerstone Rooms and were able to walk to many lovely attractions in the town. We particularly appreciated the friendly welcome from townspeople we had the pleasure to talk with..
Historical town, with diferent opportunities. Visit historical cathedral, several walks also in natural resort, you can start from the hotel. By car very close to Southampton, New Forest and so on. Parking 5 min walk from the hotel near WR supermarket, with acceptable tariff. Nice department store in the center, several restaurants also in surrounding area.
Enjoyed everything about our stay. Lovely spotless room with a very comfy bed. Shower room was small but beautifully formed. 😀 Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. My O/H had full English & I had avocado with poached eggs on toast. Scrumptious, & the coffee was so good. Won’t bother looking for anywhere else if staying in the area again. At night we ate at Suan Thai which was an easy stroll away & enjoyed every mouthful.
Such a lovely hotel ,staff very friendly. A very pleasant surprise to see a beautiful peacock that seems to have made its permanent residence around the grounds although it dosnt belong to the proprietors . The hotel itself is a little isolated but lovely countryside.

Location was beautiful. Door was left open for us on arrival with candles lit and Prosecco on ice. Hosts were opposite so nearby if needed. We were made to feel comfortable and were contacted in advance on how to find the accommodation as it is in a very rural and secluded location. The barn is cleaned and maintained to a high standard and every aspect is well kept with unique decor. We made the trip to visit Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park however this would serve as a great base to explore any of the big towns or cities nearby.
I can't praise The Cromwell Arms enough - on the River Test, delightful short walk into Romsey. The car park is huge, so no problem there. We had a deluxe double room, very comfortable and quiet, spotlessly clean. Breakfast freshly cooked and delicioius (recommend the muesli with berries and coconut milk), evening meals most acceptable and reasonably priced. The staff were very welcoming, extremely helpful and accommodating - a delight in themselves. This is a well run establishment offering very good value for money.

Bedrooms large, well equipped - beds very comfortable. Its nice to have the patio door and a small outdoor seating area. Great dinner - the 7 of us all really enjoyed our meals with the Romsey Trout getting much praise. Breakfast could have been a disaster as the gas supply to the cookers failed so limited hot dishes available - the staff dealt with the situation particularly well and we had good meals.

Breakfast was very nice and very tasty, the gentleman of the house is very friendly, lady of the house needs a little work, but all the same pleasant enough. Very clean, but modest. Best thing going for it is location, close to Peppa Pig world and right in the centre of a little town so you are within a walking minute or two of pubs and restaurants. Beds were comfortable enough.

Clean, modern en-suite room situated in a building adjacent to the pub. Room fairly basic, but comfortable bed/linens and nice towels. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Excellent breakfast (an optional extra) - custom made to accommodate your preferences. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
Very easy to get to from Romsey station. We had everything we needed and felt very relaxed and comfortable there. It was clean and very well organized. Also Julia responded to me instantly whenever I had a question and stayed up till midnight to let us in when we first arrived.
