Had a few days visiting National Trust properties in Kent/Sussex, this location was fairly central for Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Scotney Castle, Bateman's, Bodiam Castle and Smallhythe Place. The accommodation was modern, clean, comfy and tidy. Free car parking is conveniently in front of the property.

The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was great (if you like the 'English pub vibe). The rooms were large, nicely decorated and had everything you need. We loved the sweet treats. Breakfast and diner were fine.

The staff were incredibly friendly. The food was good (when I was able to get some). The room was immaculately clean and nicely decorated. The shower was decent. The WiFi was good. It was largely a very positive experience.
Once an ancient monastery, The Star and Eagle Hotel dates back to the 14th century. It offers charming accommodation in the Kent countryside, 20 minutes’ drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Breakfast was served in the breakfast room and it was lovely to be served. The building was very old and quirky but was well maintained and the rooms were large and decorated tastefully, There is a beautiful courtyard out the back overlooking the countryside where we had drinks before going inside to have some dinner. You can also sit out the front and watch the world go by. Car parking is out the back by the courtyard.
Lizzy was a great hostess and was able to answer all my husbands questions about the hotel. My husband and I loved this hotel.

The village is very quaint, chocolate box pretty. There are very few shops in the village, but Tunbridge and Hastings are nearby.
The hotel decor is amazing, very quirky and imaginative. The bed was enormous and extremely comfortable. The evening meal was delicious. The only downside was the English breakfast, failing that would thoroughly recommend.

Ticehurst is a lovely little place, full of charm.
Ticehurst is a lovely little place, full of charm. It has 2 really excellent country inns: The Bell and The Bull (not to be confused). Both serve great food, with The Bell adding a modern twist and The Bull going more traditional. Both are worth a visit, though I recommend pre-booking.

There is a need to improve and upgrade the facilities and in particular to provide and much more substantial and varied breakfast.
I realise the room is trying to give a 'shabby chic' appearance, but the layout and facilities in the room need to be overhauled.
We were attending a wedding at The Bell in Ticehurst so needed accommodation nearby. The Cherry Tree Inn is about ten minutes walk away, so ideal. It's a picturesque pub with good, traditional food, a friendly welcome, a great outside area and plenty of parking. It's unfussy and popular with locals. Room was clean, reasonably modern and nice and quiet. I was concerned mattress might be too firm, but good sleep said otherwise. Breakfast was prompt and tasty
This accommodation is ideal for anyone who wants to get away and relax. Ann and Ian were perfect hosts, a lovely welcome pack of homemade bread and cakes, along with milk, bacon and butter provided. The Byre is clean and cosy and quiet location, with Ticehurst village walking distance.
Look forward to returning soon.
The place was new, Many more items supplied than you get in most hotel rooms such as plates, glasses, cutlery oh and netflix, You could just go from your lodge to your car without interacting with others. Shower was one of the best I had had the pleasure of using. It had good pressure.
