Set in Kololi, HYPOLINK Village offers free WiFi and is 1312 feet from the beach. All units are fully equipped with a kitchen, dining area, private garden and sea views. Some units feature a terrace. Everything about the place is lovely. I very much enjoyed my stay in The Gambia and I attribute this to Matthew and his team.
Featuring accommodations with a terrace, Drammeh's Villa is located in Kotu. Guests staying at this villa have access to a balcony. Uk imported furniture and TV, washing machine, all very modern. Huge villa, far too big for only 3 of us, didn’t use one bedroom at all. Loved the birdwatching from roof and balcony overlooking creek and rice fields, saw 60 species of bird from house. compared to hotels great value for money at only £70 a night!! Hotels were moremoney for far less space, plus all the hassle from birdguides and Bumsters outside on beach and road. Usually stay at Bakotu or Kombo hotels on previous 6 visits over 22 years. Prefer the villa, only a 20 minute walk through Fajara golf course to Kombo to use pool and facilities. Security guard and cleaner were excellent, Omar taxi driver recommended by villa was superb, can phone him and he will collect from villa, important as Tony in our group can’t walk far, bad knee. 5 star villa 😀😀🤗
Set in Ampaya, 1.8 mi from Kololi Beach, Sarawally Guest house offers accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a shared lounge. Great helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast, nice clean rooms. The whole place is impeccably clean. The locations is near many restaurants but a little far from the beach.
Located in Sere Kunda NDing, 1.7 mi from Senegambia Beach, Sunset Beach Hotel features accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a bar. Everything was good, clean, good variety of food. We weren't expecting 5 star in a 3rd world country of Africa.
It takes some getting used to being bombarded by the friendly local population, after a few days you become more assertive :-) Nice beaches, nice food and drinks, and many attractions are not far away.
The beach is thriving and full of people wanting you to buy whatever they’re offering. Be polite, tell them you’ll see them another day but you’re off to see someone! They’ll be fine... do not be aggressive or assertive as offenc May be taken and they’ll increase the hassle or they’ll become offended. Women might need to be wary walking alone on the beach. Metzy residence is a good quiet hotel with very friendly and abundant staff. Great place to settle into The Gambia but do go north or to the interior to see more of the real country.
I loved Serekunda everyone was so friendly and welcoming could do enough for you. Beaches amazing and food unreal.I loved everything about Serekunda. 2Rays was my fav place for food and the staff where great.
Kerr Serrigne has changed, more development but not too much. Street crime has also increased with Europeans feeling more at risk at night from robbery. The disparity in wealth in a country where people are only just able to survive against the 'millionaire' incomers is bound to create that possibility of crime. Take care, take a taxi door to door. During the day no problems. The vast majority of Gambians wonderful.
Camping-Sukuta & Lodge is the best site we have stopped at so far on our journey from England. Very clean and well maintained. The beaches on the coast are nice and the people are very friendly. They also take 'no' for an answer as long as you have first siad hello and asked them how they are.
The flat is in Kerr Sering, not Serekunda. It is a quiet area close to Senegambia with all the shops, beach and tourist facilities. The faded elegance of Coconut Residence with its fantastic cocktails is on your doorstep. Local restaurant Freddys is next door with more elegant dining such as Sea Shells is 10 minutes walk away. The monkey park is on your walk to the beach in 10-15 minutes walk.
Everything about the place is lovely. I very much enjoyed my stay in The Gambia and I attribute this to Matthew and his team.
