I miss enough word to describe hotel Sophia in Hydra...of all my stays anywhere lately, this hotel shines like a star! The food, location, cleaness..... Amazing! If I go back to Hydra, which I hope to do, it is the only place for me.

Our room was beautiful, bright, and full of authentic Greek charm, with absolutely incredible views overlooking the harbour. Waking up in the morning to watch the boats and the bustle of Hydra from our shutter style windows was a real highlight of our trip. The rooftop was incredible for breakfast best views across Hydra harbour and surrounding mountains. The breakfast menu had lots to choose from and was presented to high standard. The views with our coffee stole our hearts. Our host was exceptionally welcoming, accommodating. Throughout our stay, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, with the warmth and hospitality truly enhanced our experience. We only wish we could have stayed longer. A perfect place to experience the beauty and atmosphere of Hydra, and somewhere we would happily return to in the future. Highly recommended!

First of all, the team was wonderful; both their communication and their attitude made us feel genuinely welcome from the very beginning. The house itself is a lovely place in Hydra, located close to the port and easily accessible with only a few stairs, which is a big advantage on the island. As soon as you enter, you are welcomed by a charming little kitchen, a cozy sitting area, a beautiful bathroom with a washer-dryer combo, and two lovely bedrooms where everything has clearly been thoughtfully arranged. We honestly fell in love with the house the moment we walked in and immediately started checking availability to see if we could extend our stay from two nights to three. As an interior designer, I would also like to mention that the atmosphere, energy, and soul of the house were truly beautiful. The sweet sounds of local people passing by outside, the small square nearby where you could comfortably sit and relax, the church and bell tower around the corner; all of these details made the experience feel very authentic and special. Every time we contacted the team, they responded with genuine care and the best possible assistance. Special thanks to George and Ilias for their kindness and hospitality. We honestly had almost no negative experience during our stay.

Nesea was one of the best stays we have ever had. The actual apartment is beautiful and the location is excellent. It was exceptionally clean, had everything we needed and the communication with the host was great. The breakfast is also great at a local restaurant on the port. We are already planning to stay here next year- thanks for a great stay!

Expensive island with beautiful town and difficult for prople with walking disabilities. The asbence of motor vehicles adds to the tranquility of the place . The presence of mules and horses may not be for everyone as it is followed by a certain smell . Some interesting and beautiful trails may be more interesting for some people although most of the visitors are there for socializing .

Loved to death but copes well enough with the occasional cruise ship or two, A pretty, car free setting. Calm beach s little way away ( 25 minutes walk) so catch a return ferry boat for €10 return if that’s better for you. Always lots happening at the lovely port. Best coffee and and croissants at “Lemon Trees” and best meal at Sunset bar and restaurant around the corner.

Hydra is special in terms of the interesting alley walks, especially in the morning and evening, the proximity and beauty of the restaurants and ships in the port, the variety of cultures, families with children of all ages. There is something for every age to do there. Whether it's the alleys or sailing around the island and the nearby beaches. The ferries work great and everyone is very, very nice! The house (which you can't enter of course) is Leonard Cohen's house and everything related to it.

With its proximity to Athens, Hydra is the perfect starter island. Despite the ferries full of day trippers unloading every hour, it steadfastly retains the authentic magic of its reputation and somehow never feels crowded as you move about the backstreets of the village and its many hiking trails. On the waterfront you can sit with a coffee or cocktail and just enjoy the people watching. Swimmers will easily find platforms and pebble beaches or take water taxis to secluded spots well-worth a half day of relaxation. Restaurants range from simple ouzeries to sophisticated gourmet choices. My wife loves the cats and car-free streets. I go for the nautical and artistic history. On the upscale side, we always visit Omilos and Techne for special occasions. Our favorite beach is Plakes with its first class restaurant for lunch. My wife goes swimming early every morning at the platform at Spilia in town.

We loved Hydra,from the minute we got off the ferry and wended our way through the cobbled streets to Hydra Suites. To be met by Nina, waving enthusiastically at us. Our accomodation was great, part of an old house, with stone floors and walls but fitted out of modern plumbing and lamps etc.We had our own patio area , small but beautifully formed kitchen area and only a couple of minutes walk to the nearest restaurant serving superb fish

Hydra is such a stunning place and perfect if you want a relaxing, authentic Greek island experience. The fact that there are no cars makes it feel really peaceful, and everywhere you walk you’ve got beautiful stone streets, traditional houses, and amazing sea views. The water is crystal clear and the swimming spots are incredible—whether you go to a beach or just jump in from the rocks. At the same time, the island still has a nice lively vibe, so it never feels boring. There are also loads of great places to eat, with lovely seaside restaurants and cafés serving fresh local food. Overall, it’s the perfect place to unwind, explore on foot, and enjoy the scenery. Definitely somewhere we’d happily go back to.

Very nice simple hotel in a great location in Hydra. The hotel was close to the ferry with very few steps, an important consideration for anyone coming with any type of luggage. The place was simple, but very nice with a private balcony and large common terrace. The staff was very nice. The bathroom could use some updates, but all was clean. The hotel is simple, but great for those looking for a homey stay in a central location in beautiful Sidreh.
