Travelers who stayed in Kos near "Kos International Airport ""Hippocrates""" (KGS) have said good things about Porto Bello Royal, Angelina Studios, and Grand Blue Beach Hotel.
Kos town was easy to get around and the restaurants were great. I was disappointed with Hippocrates tree as it looked like it was dying and the branches were propped up, not sure why but I expected the tree to be in better condition. Highlight was the Asklepieion just outside of Kos town. We took a local bus to the site and weren’t disappointed with the views.
Variety of authentic Greek restaurants. Nice walk along the harbour. Bus connections to all interesting places on the island. But not much else to do or see. A lot of gift shops and tourist oriented areas.
Kos Town is perfect for you if you want to combine a holiday at the beach with a bit of history and activities. Much like the other cities on the island, Kos has long stretching sandy beaches where you can relax. Most of the boat trips all start from Kos Town harbour (such as the boat to Bodrum-Turkey or the Three Islands Tour), therefore it really pays off to stay in Kos. If you stay in another city on the island you either have to use the local bus to get to Kos (which does not drive too frequently), take a taxi or have a tour transfer. Furthermore, a lot of the historical sights like the Ancient Agora, the Casa Romana, the Roman Odeon or the Asklepion are all located in or nearby Kos Town. The food in Kos is amazing, plenty of restaurants and cuisines to choose from. We had Meze (a must try!!) (seafood, tradițional and vegetarian) at two restaurants, both of which i fully recommend (Ambrosia Restaurant and the Meze Academy) We also had a day trip to Bodrum-Turkey where we visited the castel (must do!), the ruined or the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus (one of the ancient 7 wonders of the world) and shopped at the bazaar. The 3 Islands Tour is a very popular one, we had a lovely day. The locations you visit are really remote, fishermen's villages either with beautiful sandy beaches and clear water or with lovely authentic and natural Greek products (natural sponges, thyme honey).
Love Kos love Kefalos .the Hotel is gorgeous however be careful when booking it states payment on arrival to include gov and city tax However my card was charged unexpectedly a week before arrival without notice .it took more than I had booked for and on checkout I was charged again for tourist tax when I had already paid They were polite but just said refer to booking.com Sadly I won't sty here again
We loved Kos Town. Went there about 12 years ago and it seemed to be a lot bigger than we remembered. Its a lovely bustly town but not a party town, so a nice atmosphere. Plenty of shops, restaurants, bars in the old town and towards the beach area. We were staying over towards the marina which is a bit quieter but there are still plenty of restaurants, shops etc along the coast road and in the residential streets. Plenty of touristy things to do, lots of boat trips, open top bus, tourist train, castle, ruins. Lovely beach with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. The only negative comment I would make are the numerous cyclists around the town, way too many around the centre of town, harbour area and along the beach road. You have to constantly look around you when out walking as the pavements for pedestrians are very narrow or non existent in places. I would imagine in the height of the season this would be a bit of a nightmare.
The cycle lanes were fab ,very safe and pretty long Lovely beaches ,bars ,restaurants. Free sunbeds. The old town was very interesting Plenty of archeological sites And the people are so friendly.
The hotel is immaculately presented with lovely rooms and decor. Very clean with a lovely pool area. The hotel also had a private beach area with sunbeds/umbrellas with staff to order food and drinks. Location is just out of the centre, but the beach is clean with smooth pebbles. We were very impressed with the lovely young lady at check in who was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable with everything you need. It is a beautful hotel.
The front desk staff were great. Check-in and check-out were smooth. The room itself was spacious, tastefully decorated, and clean. The hotel location to the beach is perfect. It's right behind the hotel. Plenty of free beach loungers for hotel guests. Beach towels are down in that area too. There's an abundance of restaurants around the hotel. The port is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel.
Each staff member was friendly & helpful. The apartment on its own was completely adequate for our needs and it was clean overall. Each day the room was cleaned. About breakfast: it had the most necessary stuff to offer, nothing extraordinary which was fine! Having a pool at the hotel was something special as well
This new-ish hotel is situated centrally and is run like a finely-oiled machine by the meticulous Georgios and the effervescent Maria. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with big balconies. The staff are efficient and friendly. A great choice for a stay in Kos Town. We will be back! xx
Kos
Spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Great attention to detail and very easy communication with the owner. central location, easy to walk everywhere and near to the port area. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment for a stay in Kos town.
The hotel is located in close proximity to the harbour & the centre of Kos town, our room was basic but suited our needs for the one night. The hotel staff were very helpful with all our queries, we didn't have the breakfast so can't comment.
The location is great, the views are stunning, it's right in the centre of Kos town, the staff are nice and the breakfast food is fresh and varied. The hotel gas a modern vibe and the rooms are cleaned daily. He food in the restaurant is very good!
Close to harbor, beach clubs, restaurants, ruins & shopping. Big spacious room with big balcony. Decent breakfast. Storaged our luggage after checkout until our late ferry ride. Very friendly family run small hotel in the heart of Kos City.
The staff were very attentive. The food is excellent. Highly recommend the all inclusive package. It’s a great location - about a 10 min bike ride, 5 min drive or 25 min walk from Kos town. The on-site entertainment is great.
You definitely get what you pay for, we paid a small price compared to other all inclusive week stays we have had in Greece. Beach set up is really nice. Good selection of drinks/cocktails
It’s a new building with all new facility’s in the room. location is very good as in the centre or Kos Town.
