United StatesI wanted a hotel away from the port and closer to the beaches. We were pleasantly surprised as the hotel is very pretty and exceptionally clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was tasty with great options to accommodate our group.

Spetses is a truly charming island with a unique atmosphere. We loved wandering through the beautiful old streets, enjoying the traditional architecture, the peaceful surroundings, and the lovely seaside views. The island has a wonderful mix of elegance, nature, and authentic Greek charm.

Spetses was the perfect island to end our Greek holiday.
Spetses was the perfect island to end our Greek holiday. It has a much slower pace than some of the other islands, so ideal for relaxing and unwinding. The Old Port is full of restaurants and bars, and it's lovely to stroll along the waterfront in the evenings, but can be surprisingly pricey. We hired an ATV for a day, which made it easy to explore the island and discover different beaches and quieter spots at our own pace. There isn't a huge amount to do in terms of sightseeing or activities, so if you're looking for a busy island with lots of attractions and nightlife, you may find it a little quiet. Some of the organised beach clubs can also be quite expensive.

Spetses is not on everyone's Greek isle list but the experience was delightful. Some of the best restaurants in all of Greece and the best clear water beaches. Lots of swimming right in the town. Lots of history as well. One needs at least 3 days.

It´s a lovely island.
It´s a lovely island. Can feel upscale in several places, but it is very welcoming and enjoyable. Convenient in the relationship with Piraeus and Athens, it has a nice range of beaches, good cycling options, and an enjoyable downtown.

The island is absolutely beautiful and truly picture-perfect. The charming harbor, elegant architecture, and stunning scenery make it a wonderful place to visit.
However, one aspect of our experience was disappointing. Although the island is often described as car-free, there are a large number of motorbikes, mopeds, and scooters everywhere. The constant traffic noise can detract from the peaceful atmosphere, even when enjoying a morning coffee at one of the beautiful cafés by the port.
We visited in May, which is considered off season, yet the roads already felt quite busy. At times, walking around was uncomfortable because some riders seemed to drive fast and without much regard for pedestrians. Given our experience during a relatively quiet period, it's hard to imagine how crowded and hectic the island must feel during the peak summer months.
Despite this drawback, the island's beauty is undeniable. Visitors looking for a tranquil, traffic-free destination should simply be aware that the reality may be different from what they expect.

Great place for a short getaway.
Great place for a short getaway. Beautiful and clean town, great walks (cars are mostly prohibited), polite service, strong historical footprint (Greek Revolution), truly nice beaches on the south-west side (rent an e-bike, you'll love it!) and great food all over. What else would you ask for?

The hotel was very accommodating throughout our stay! They held on to our luggage as we arrived much earlier than check-in time and mad ewondetful recommendations for beaches to visit and restaurants to dine in! We were greeted with a smile at every interaction, the room was clean, comfortable and the sea view simply spectacular 😀 They even went above and beyond when we slept in and missed breakfast by offering us some options. Spetses is an island I'd visit again and Klimis is where I'd stay again.

Mare Monte was fabulous in every respect, family owned and run with attention to detail, great breakfast and relaxation area, large immaculately cleaned rooms. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Friendly and super helpful owners. They arranged golf buggy so that 4 of us could circle the wonderful island of Spetses. Highly recommend and much better than big impersonal hotels

This hotel is in a perfect location to base yourself on the island. As soon as you get off the ferry the hotel is directly in front. The room is very spacious and nice comfy bed. My room had a nice balcony with a sea view. Highly reccommend this hotel if your visiting the island

Nice 'old school' hotel with a top location. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. The pool is a nice alternative to hitting the beach.
