Offering an on-site à-la-carte restaurant, Aparthotel Miramare is opened in summer of 2014. It is located on Saint Peter Peninsula next to the Makarska Port. Close to the center of Makarska and located at a pebbly beach, the charming family-run Hotel Maritimo is close to a sports marina, boasting magnificent views of the Brač and Hvar Islands. Lovely hotel , lovely staff a special thank you to Ms. Svjetlana from reception. Since we arrived late and the kitchen was closed the concerned Ms. Svjetlana arranged fir a plate of cold starters to wait for us in our room just in case we are hungry. The room was spacious with lovely balcony overlooking the beach, 10 min walking distance from center, great breakfast. The room was very clean and with a nice fresh smell. They provided a baby cot for us free of charge. We would like to thank them again for their hospitality!

Makarska is a jewel of a town. People were friendly. We found plenty of places to eat and drink. Plenty of opportunities to take daytrips by car, boat and bus to other scenic spots along the Dalmatian Coast and Makarska Riviera. We just didn't have enough time to spend with friends eating, sipping coffee and watching the locals and tourists stroll along the promenade and Riva. We come to Makarska to relax, but we have lots of opportunities to be active if we so choose.
Makarska is a very nice place to visit. Beside sunbathing on the beach, seeing the old town is worth too. If you've discovered everything in the town, there are cruises to other islands from the port, but ask for details, especially how long will the trip take from one place to another (some ships are faster ;) ) It is also worth to go and see the other half of the beach, the one, where are less people and amazing scenery. It is situated on the Western part. Some restaurants might not be the cheapest, but there are places where you can eat good food for half the price. Remember, not the best looking restaurant is the most expensive ;)
Nice seaside town, plenty of genuine Adriatic feelings and a lot of places to have a nice meal. Beaches are great and very close to the town centre, there are a lot of restaurants and bars and opportunities for sports.
I liked the promenade. I mean, you could walk a whole day along the beach and enjoy drinking, eating, swimming, playing... I love the nature, so I chose this place for the perfect combination of mountain and sea. I recommend Biokovo mountain for the brave ones, to hike in the morning, to listen the birds singing, and then a relaxing afternoon at the beach. Can't be more perfect than that. Makarska Riviera includes many beaches and it is close to many small islands and villages you can visit. Ya.. a gold mine to settle as a starting point.
Markarska is beautiful, serene and relaxing. We took a boat tour to Hvar and Branc on the ship Viganj which I was surprised was so enjoyable. Lunch on the cruise as vegetarians wasn’t great, but I had some food with me, and it’s easy to get food on the island stops. We swam almost every day, at different beaches along the Promenade; ate a few of meals at Cafe Oz which was a little less ambient than some places, but the food was as very good especially for vegetarians, as good as anywhere we ate, and less expensive. Lots of places for nice snacks too, great fries and ice cream everywhere. Makarska is very scenic, great for photographers and videographers...
With a number of resorts on the Dalmatian coast being quite small, Makarska has just the right balance of facilities/ restaurants. It's busy and bustling but not as you would experience in e.g. Certain areas of Spain. The harbour area is very impressive which leads into the old town square. Lots of cultural activities take place within the square e.g. Concerts of traditional Croatian music and songs. Thera are fish festivals regularly and these have music and dance. The walk from the hotel Biokovka into the harbour takes 20 mins and this is along a flat promenade which facilitates all abilities. We ate at the restaurant Biokovo in the centre of the harbour area. Excellent food and views from there.
Matko and his wife felt like family. Their apartment was the best in all of Croatia that we travelled. Very clean and everything you wanted in an apartment. We travelled as a family of 4 with kids. Beds and sofa bed were very comfortable. The view from the balcony is AMAZING. Extremely friendly family and very helpful. We were sad to leave. Thank you Matko and family, we will miss you xxxooo.
This was one of my favourite hostels because as well as having all the facilities you needed (lockers, good showers/bathroom etc.) the building itself had character. It felt like an old traditional Croatian/Split-Dalmatia home; and that’s also what it was, homely. The staff made you feel at home and overall it creates what feels like a very authentic experience of Makarska!
Location is perfect, parking place available, just a few minutes away from down town and beautiful beach. Groceries, coffe shops, backeries are all around you. It's very good if you are traveling by bus because main bus station is right across the street. I would recommend this place, especially to young people as this is a vibrant part of Makarska.
