City full of historic sites, amazing architecture friendly locals and delicious street food. Eye catching greenery around and wonderful places to visit. Easy to travel across to Malaysia by road, There is regular bus services between Pontianak 🇮🇩 to Kuching (Malaysia) 🇲🇾 Also easy to find flight within Indonesia 🇮🇩 from Pontianak airport that is located near to city centre approximately 15 minutes 🚖 ride.

Breakfast would be challenged if you're picky in finding a place. I recommend breakfast in the hotel or you can try Warunk Upnormal. Lunch and dinner wouldn't be a problem as there are a lot of 'Rumah Makan'. We went to Pontianak mainly for shopping. Not many interest places to seen there. There is a heavy traffic at the Landak bridge as the bridge is under maintenance.

A good place to shop in bundles for bags and clothes when going to the Central Market. The Megamall is a big mall and good for shopping. Also its interesting to learn about the phenomenon at Tugu Khatulistiwa and the history of the city in the Muzeum is also worth a visit. Getting around is very easy and very cheap! we used GrabCar from the hotel to the Central market for just 15K rp!

A medium sized busy town, it makes a good entry point for Kalimantan. Take the time and stay a day, the Istana Kadriah (Raja's Palace) and the equator momument can be done in one day and combined with a short river cruise. Otherwise there is not much structure or glory to the place, but i enjoyed my stay. Food is cheap and local, but there is also a small mall that has JCo donuts.

pontianak is quite a not well taken care of, in term of drain cleaniness, traffice and road. it is very ruleless on road compare to other countries, drain very smelly, lots of motorbikes, wet market very very dirty. but some big chinese food restaurant very good. price also normally fair as malaysia. clothes very cheap.

You can ask the staff to get the water for you from the water dispenser at the reception. The surrounding area is ok although there are junkie like people around, queers. Location not far from tourist attractions eg the huge rumah dayak, museum, etc.
