Adorable home with comfortable beds and lovely balconies with a view of the water. It’s right alongside a big yard so the kids could play outside while we enjoyed a cup of tea and the lovely Irish summer weather. Walkable to the town and just a lovely home to spend the weekend.

Private and comfortable - we had the house to ourselves when we went and Sandra was lovely and accommodating! Helped provide any missing amenities. We were very in and out with our stay but thought the bed was the most comfortable of all of our trip!

Dromod is a small town on the banks of the Shannon with good...

Dromod is a small town on the banks of the Shannon with good berths for cruisers. It's a pretty town is much improved since the main road bypassed it. There are 3 pub/restaurants - the Brandywell was also our B&B where we also had an excellent dinner.

A very pretty village on the Shannon.

A very pretty village on the Shannon. There are 3 bars each with restaurants & a cafe in the village. There is a buzz in all of the bars. People are very friendly. You can get a train from Dublin to the village of Dromod for a day trip (met someone who was doing that) or a weekend. One Bar/Restaurant in about 2 mins walk from the train. The Village is about 6-7 mins walk. You can hop on the train (get a return) which will bring you to Carrick on Shannon & return within a few hours so you dont need a car.
