A 5-minute drive from Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim Marina Hotel offers stylish accommodations in a beautiful waterside location. It is in a fabulous location. So peaceful and relaxing.
Featuring a garden, Topper's Rooms is located in Carrick on Shannon in the Leitrim County region, a 3-minute walk from Leitrim Design House and 4 miles from Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club. Topper’s is a phenomenal place to stay. Although the rooms and bathroom were a bit small, they clean, up-to-date, and exceptional. The double bed was huge and so comfy & the shower in the bathroom is lovely!! There’s also a common kitchen where guests can prepare food, and the most divine sitting room overlooking the street with a fireplace, couch, reading chairs, a desk, and tourism magazines. Christene, was fabulous, friendly, and accommodating. We will definitely be staying here next time we’re in Carrick-on-Shannon. There’s also a lovely cafe (Coffey’s) down the road on the corner that’s perfect for breakfast if you don’t want to cook your own. We regret not eating at Topper’s for dinner, but I’m sure it would’ve been delicious.
Featuring a garden and a sun terrace, Hartley House B&B is located in Carrick-on-Shannon. The bed and breakfast provides a shared lounge. At the bed and breakfast, rooms have a wardrobe. Beautiful vibrant town with welcoming people everywhere. The area by the river is particularly beautiful. There are plenty of things to do and see and the market ( if you get the chance to see it) is lovely. The tiny Costello chapel is moving and a tiny gem. Really good range of places to eat and some very excellent ones amongst them. The whole town has a bustling vibrant feel and is a complete delight. It is well located to allow you to visit a range fo places of interest further afield.

Carrick on shannon is great focal point to travel around the midlands as there are wonderful sights to view that are not far to drive to, there is loads of adventure and boat rides to do and pop over the boarder to fermanagh and visit the marble arch caves and enniskillen Carrick on shannon is beautiful town in ireland with lovely small resturants and friendly atsmosphere , The walks downs by the canal and the boat trips were beautiful and tranquil along with visiting the glencar waterfall . over all the experience we had was wonderful and can truely say Leitrim is Gem of ireland . So much to offer and do
Nice place to visit if you want to shop, dine and have the a few drinks.maybe a few more tours or excursions would be great. Its more suited for short breaks. Not enough to do in one area for more that a few days.
Lovely town, good vibe but not too busy, with a good range of coffee shops and restaurants, and lots of things to do in the town and nearby. Lough Key Country Park isn't too far and has boats for hire, and bike and walking trails. Lots of pleasant drives within easy distance of the town.
COVID is still with us. There was little to no concern for guest health safety. The dining room was over packed with guests. There was a large number of guests staying . A second dining room would help or stagger time of breakfast . There is a large sitting room with soft furniture close to dining room. Get rid of the furniture and use this as extra dining space. During COVID the health of all of us is important. The COVID possibility, on reflection, made me feel very uncomfortable. All owners of guest houses should be very cognizant of the continued dangers of COVID.
Oscar greeted us with friendly smiles and left the cosy pub to show us the house! House spotless... very cosy ... walking distance to Leitrim town! Fantastic walks ... Lough Key Forrest Park a drive away ... but by far was that the host opened up his kitchen to feed the lot of us ... Food magnificent... huge portions and fantastic value for money!!!
The hotel is charming, historic and in the heart of the village. Food and drink located on the premises, free secure parking and staff willing to help at every opportunity. I was lucky enough to be booked into the Michael Collins room which was an extra delight for anyone interested in Irish history.
Great value room, and very comfortable. Ideally located in Leitrim Village, close to Carrick and easy to get anywhere. Very welcoming and friendly, and everything spotlessly clean. Great having a microwave / fridge just to make some meals a bit easier. Wifi was great.
