Built in 1850, Ross Lake House Hotel is a Georgian House set in woodlands. It offers rooms with baths and showers, a fabulous restaurant serving Irish cuisine and free parking. The food was excellent - delicious breakfast - great choice of food. The dinner was also superb. Excellent menu - prepared to perfection and served with style! The bedroom was cosy and extremely comfortable - would love a pillow like that at home! Experienced staff - trained to pamper! Garden full of beautiful azaleas in bloom surrounded by mature rhododendrons. If you are looking for a place to relax far away from the traffic this is it.

Located in Oughterard, 13 miles from Maam Cross, Lakeland Midsummer Lakehouse provides accommodations with free WiFi and a garden with a sun terrace. Some units include a seating area and/or a patio. I travel a great deal and can honestly say that this bed and breakfast has better quality bedrooms than many of the hotels that I have stayed in over the years. The property is located on the lake shore and has great views. Our host was very informative, friendly and with tremendous local knowledge. The bed was very, very comfortable. The bathroom had a great shower. Really good cooked breakfast. Have stayed here before and just wish that I could stay here more often.
Quietly located, Mountain View Guest house is an Irish Tourist Board approved family-run 4-star guest house. Everything looks nice and clean. Very good Location.

The hotel is facing a beautiful lake which made our day at the first impression. The reception was cordial and got our keys even though we checked in a bit early. Oughterard is a good jumping off place to the Aran Islands. It has a number of dinner options, and the townspeople we encountered were both friendly and full of good travel tips. It’s also a pretty little town.
Stayed on Loch Corrib. Beautiful views of the lake, swans, can take row boats out on the lake. Visited a nearby Aughanure castle which was beautiful. Hazel Mountain Chocolates were lovely and very interesting as you can see the chocolate making process.
The village is small but quite charming with one hotel and only a few pub-restaurants.We went o the pub our host recommeneded and were not disappointed .Folks were helpful and friendly.Beautiful scenery everywhere.
Oughterard really grew on us. We arrived hungry and got a late lunch at Powers' Pub - right as school children were checking in with the their parents/ the staff. Very friendly. Outstanding cafe in town - Greenway Cafe. Owner is Johnny, and they do a lovely lunch or dinner. Finer dining than you'd expect in a small town, and a delight. Breachnach's Pub also had music nights. A daily boat does tours of the Lough. Pretty river in addition to the Lough itself. And free parking on street or in a spacious car park. Also a nice little grocery.
The location was just right and the proximity to day trips was excellent. the town was full of great pubs and we were able to travel to Galway easily. Galway has many great attractions for mature adults
It is a charming town with lots of restaurants and a well stocked souvenir shop. Great place to stay when exploring Connemara. scenery amazing. We had a great seafood a chowder at Powers bar. rode Connemara ponies at Knockakilly riding centre - Roger is a great guy.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Ross Lake very much. It's a very quaint manor hotel nestled into a beautifully landscaped and wooded area. The drive up the road with the babbling brook is so serene. Henry and Elaine were most gracious in so many ways. The food was excellent both at breakfast and at dinner and we enjoyed visiting with other guests, as well as Henry and Elaine in the parlour for drinks before and after dinner. The hotel is immaculate and we couldn't have asked for a better experience in Ireland.

This hotel had the best signage which allowed us to fine the place readily as it was quite a complicated path off the main highway. This is very important to us as we've had some very trying times in finding our hotels in Ireland. The property was very private on a lake, quiet and beautiful. Our room was average in terms of cleanliness but the beds were very comfortable. We had a great view of the lake from our room. A very nice breakfast was included with the room charge. Owners were very friendly.

We walked in and were instantly at home. Dessie is a one-man community hub and in meeting him, you don't just meet him, you get to share part of Oughterard's history and meet loads of other interesting people. The Connemara/Italy fusion pizzas were a highlight, so was Dessie playing folk violin. Shops and restaurants are within a few steps, a stroll down to Lough Corrib, great centre for exploring beautiful Connemara. Despite all this activity, nights were very quiet and peaceful.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is relaxing, peaceful and beautiful - for walking, boating, fishing or contemplating this is the perfect place to stay. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and were genuinely interested in where and whom we were visiting. The restaurant they recommended in Oughterard was excellent and we went there both nights. Thank you for making our stay so great.

Fantastic staff, great value for money. Room was spacious, bathroom was lovely and modern and breakfast was nicer than any other hotel we've stayed in. We arrived late on a Saturday night, Oughterard was buzzing but the room we had was very quiet and our sleep was uninterrupted.

Excellent bed and breakfast! The hosts were super friendly and very accommodating. The room we had was a nice size. Shower was great. The breakfast was very good. it was prepared for you fresh after asking what you would like to eat. Great stewed fruits too. We were able to walk into town via the path right next to their driveway. Had one of the best dinners in town during our whole stay in Ireland. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area to stay in this bed and breakfast!
