Set in calm surroundings of lawns and gardens close to the center of Roscommon, this charming 18th-century manor house has a recreation center, award-winning restaurant and free parking. Food in the bar was very good, but the breakfast was superb as well. It was good to have baby pool with warmer water, really enjoyed the whole family.
Located on the verge of Roscommon Town, this family-run hotel offers spacious, quality accommodations, free high-speed Wi-Fi and first class food. Hotel is situated at the very edge of town. The public areas were comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The bedroom was very clean with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The bathroom was clean and had a good shower. Our evening meal was very, very good. The menu was quite extensive for the type of establishment. Good quality food, well prepared and a more than adequate wine list. Breakfast was equally good with food prepared to order. Would certainly stay again.
Located in Roscommon, a 12-minute walk from Roscommon Museum, Ross House has accommodations with free WiFi. There's a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. Room was exceptionally clean and well equipped. Temperature very good. Not too warm. We were at a wedding so we were offered a later breakfast time from owner which was gracefully accepted. Breakfast was excellent and were asked what we wanted. We also were told not to panic to make check out time. Owner even offered to drop us to hotel where wedding was to pick up our car. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Roscommon

Everyone we met or stoped to ask questions were really friendly and helpful. I loved the old buildings, We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant at Gleesons. Everything was within walking distance and the most exciting event was Fossett's Circus which is Ireland's National Circus and we were told that it has been around for more than 100 years.
There is a lot to do in and around Roscommon that most tourists miss. Roscommon Castle is free and worth visiting as is the Friary. There are several nice shops and a lot of amazing restaurants in the area. It's centrally located so its a short trip to most anywhere you may want to visit and the people in the community are very friendly and helpful.
The Gleeson Hotel in Roscommon was excellent! Food amazing and a great value. We had a bedroom with a sitting room and the bed was incredibly comfortable and the room nicely decorated. We were there to see family but I'm sure tourists in the regions could use this place as a center for visiting the region.
Enjoyed being in a smaller town than Dublin. Everything at your fingertips, including pubs, shops, good restaurants. At at Moma for a delicious Italian meal and at Gleasons for Irish lamb stew. Others enjoyed Reagan's pub nearby for dinner.
Ros Comain is a wonderful town, full of wonderful people. Aside from the 12th Century Abbey and Castle, both in ruins, you can find a healthy slice of "normal" life in this small Irish town. From multiple pubs serving spirits, beer, and cider, (on tap) to the treasure trove of information, known as The Historical Society. ( Did you know the town, in Medieval times, had a woman executioner? ) This charming town is also a great base for exploring the neighboring areas, Just ask, they'll be happy tell you where you can find that special place, perhaps the Mining Experience in Aregina?
Great location to understand the Irish culture and history. Was able to see and understand the everyday working Irishman that wasn't centered around just tourism. Great castle ruins and cemeteries.

First... Most of the negatives comments (before the 18&19-02-18) are over stated. This isn't a 4 start hotel but I saw worst 3 then this. However, like in any other place, politeness and friendlyness in communication is a must, use this an staff will respond accordingly. My overall stay was like... the staff, my bed, the place, the noise, the shower water pressure, the access, the room location and size: NET. Lovely stay.
