The “Pink City,” has a unique charm with its historic architecture and vibrant culture. However, my experience was a mix of awe and frustration.
The positives first: the city is rich in history and offers stunning sights like the Amber Fort, City Palace, and Hawa Mahal. The vibrant markets for jewellery, textiles, or handicrafts. The food is another highlight – traditional Rajasthani dishes like dal baati churma and laal maas were delicious and authentic.
But there were some drawbacks. The city can be incredibly crowded and chaotic, especially in the old town area. Traffic is overwhelming, with honking horns and jam-packed streets being the norm. Cleanliness was another issue; several areas felt neglected, and litter was visible in many public places.
I spent two days near Amber fort in Amber village and that was the best time in Jaipur.
While the hospitality of locals was warm, I did feel that some tourist attractions were overly commercialised, which took away from the experience. Decided to book a cab to go to City Palace from Lalit and Cab drivers(Ola/Uber/local) are not ready to drop you at 1 point, they all want you to book the cab for package of at least 5-6 hours and then ask you to shop from a particular store where they will also get a share from that store.
Jaipur has a lot to offer, but be prepared for the challenges of navigating a busy, bustling city. If you plan well and manage expectations, you can still enjoy its beauty and cultural richness.

So much history and places to see both in and around Jaipur.
So much history and places to see both in and around Jaipur. See the forts, palace, lakes, markets. Getting a driver for the day to be your transport is the way to go. Great value for money. Enjoyed Rajasthani cuisine and their signature Laal Mas curry.

Beautiful temples and many things to see.
Beautiful temples and many things to see. Would recommend around five days to see everything without rushing too much. Definitely visit the monkey temple! It’s obviously a city though and it will get overwhelming after a while with all the noise and people.

Beautiful temples, good quality food.
People are helpful and friendly when you need to find places by walk.
Rickshaw guys are cunning, bargain well with them. Uber, if available to the place you plan to visit, go for it.
Bapu Bazar market is good but move around before you round in on a shop. Bargain here too.
For God idols, chandpole bazaar is good.
The vibe at Lord Krishna temples is infectious and awesome ❤️😇
Worth visiting 🇮🇳👌🏻

It's the best tourist city in India.
It's the best tourist city in India. Should book a tour using the RTDC, which is cheaper and the guide is good. Atleast we should stay for 2 days in Jaipur and can stay for 3 days if you want to spend more time. E Rikshaws are cheaper. and could book ola taxis or autos for best options. don't book from the railway station auto vendors. i have been cheated by the auto driver who took me from Jaipur railway station.
