Wonderful Haveli close to the lake in Udaipur. We arrived on overnight train from Delhi and able to shower before our rooms ready. Lovely rooftop for breakfast. Kettles in the rooms appreciated. We’d stay here again in same rooms if visiting again.

A lot larger than the photos will show, both in appearance and life... The Little Garden Guest House is treat for anyone, young & old. Travelling with my elder Mum, the staff took great care in her well being, ensuring she was well looked after from food to comfort. For myself - I appreciated the attention to detail, those tiny creature comforts most places overlook and a made to order breakfast. The room was great, beds comfy, ambient lighting options, solid bathrooms. Location was in the heart of it all - walking distances from all the Old city highlights. All in all, this was a great experience and one I look forward to repeating. Thank you LGGH. ✨🙏.

What did I like? Everything! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly friendly staff, setting the tone for a truly special experience. Sitting down at the restaurant, we were cared for by some of the most attentive waiters I’ve encountered in all my travels. Their hospitality was genuine and flawless—and the food? Simply magnificent. This is the kind of place that invites you to slow down and breathe. Surrounded by serene beauty and rich history, it’s nestled in some of the most breathtaking nature we witnessed during our journey through India. If you're looking to escape the noise and bustle of the larger cities, this is the perfect retreat. The rooms are truly lovely—thoughtfully designed with timeless, tasteful decor that made us feel right at home. And don’t miss the nearby town of Delaware. Visiting it gave us a peaceful, authentic glimpse into rural India, all at a comfortable and unhurried pace.

    all here is a rip off, the palace entry fee only lets you wonder around 30% of the property as its still a private residence, and in bad shape and need of refurbishment and all other landmarks inside need further payment, its dirty overcramped, broken roads, constant car honking, beggars and scammers, would'nt recommend udaipur to the locals not to mind the visitors

    I stayed for two nights at Hotel Lake Pichola and for two...

    I stayed for two nights at Hotel Lake Pichola and for two nights at Taj Fateh Prakash. Four days is good to cover the main tourist spots at Udaipur and also visit the nearby Kumbalghar fort(overall 08 hrs trip). We visited in mid Jun. The weather was very hot and not suited for travelling in open. Recommend visit Udaipur between October to March. The monsoons are also a reasonably good option i.e. Aug to Sep. Avoid visiting during Apr to July although the hotel rates are slashed to 50% during this period. The people in Rajasthan are generally helpful and honest. They speak hindi.

    A nice, calm alternative to the bustling other cities in Rajasthan, which can be visited almost exclusively on foot. Wonderful lakes with a stunning fort and other sites. Food and drink very good wherever we went.

    The city is beautiful and the palace is worth the visit. We missed South Indian and other flavours, the food has too much dairy here. One time I had a mild food poisoning after ordering palak paneer. One has to be more careful with some food during low season. The old centre is worth exploring but you have to be careful with the motor bikes. For foreign women solo travellers it is not so pleasant as women to be walking in the center due to unwanted attention from men and questions even when dressed modestly. Group tours are nicer since the attention of the monologue is more balanced.

    We were glad that we decided to stretch our stay to three days in Udaipur. It’s such a special place with lots of rooftops, making it ideal for sunset/sunrise viewing. Idyllic and relaxing city in comparison to others we have been tto… Easy to get around. The city palace was as spectacular as the boat ride around lake pichola. The bats at dusk were amazinggggg. You are in for a treat!

    Amet Palace Haveli is hidden away in Udaipur's old town, making it a quiet but conveniently located place to stay. Close to the footbridge, the hotel offers well-appointed clean rooms with big beds and good showers. Ask for a lakeside view (we had room 133 - which was perfect). The hotel's restaurant was very good - offering wonderful evening views over Lake Pichola. If it's dry, ask for table 9. Otherwise, a generous Rayan tree provides ample cover.

    This is my second stay at this hotel, as I enjoyed my first stay so much that I immediately returned when I planned another trip to Udaipur. The hotel is charming, clean, and relaxing. The location is perfect as you can easily walk to the palace and the center of town, but it is far enough away to make it quiet and relaxing. The personnel are friendly and wonderful - they made the stay great (again!!) Highly recommended!
