Food - Breakfast was served at the Loft which a good variety of South Indian, North Indian and Continental dishes. Special mention goes to the crispy ghee roast dosa! Must try. Also, the Stairway café has some really good sandwiches and iced teas.
Hospitality - The staff are very polite, accommodating and professional. They made sure our stay was pleasant and memorable.

Try and stay at places which is closer to beach.
Try and stay at places which is closer to beach. Else getting to beach and returning to hotel is a big task ! As i saw in map, there are no beaches inside the mangalore city ( meaning, panambur , tannirbavi etc are in the outskirts 5-7kms from the city center ) . Ideally around surathkal is the best bet for stay and eat lots of icecream .

V stayed 3 days in mangalore however we were visiting Udipi...
V stayed 3 days in mangalore however we were visiting Udipi , sringeri and kukke with a rental car while we were at mangalore. Mangalore is a decent city with moderate crowd and traffic on roads. Most importantly particularly in hotels not much expensive we found. Especially hotel Sai palace was outstanding and pabbas ice cream and bond factory are icing on top. Good malls, nice temples in and around and good beaches. One noticeable thing to observe autos n cabs booked thru Rapido n uber charge extra and they have a tendency to cancel ur rides if you don’t offer them extra. Please watch out.also in some areas people won’t speak other than kannada , that can be tricky and discomfort for the people coming from far and outstation. The best time to visit and Njoy your trip and nature in mangalore is around September post monsoon season.

Beautiful place. Nice people. If you like street food and like it cheap with good quality, Mangalore is the place. You may find a lot of Rice and rice products. Great places to visit spiritually and historically. The beach is beautiful.

Clean city, hub for educational institutions. Affordable medicare. Rash driving of transport busses. Connectivity is good but city bus travel feels like adventure trip.
Auto rickshaws are plenty and available in all corners of city.
Food choices are many. Fish meals are great and very Affordable.

A little hard to find, but this is a very comfortable apartment.
Everything you can possible need is provided.
Plenty of fresh fruit and water was supplied, along with tea and coffee and milk.
If you need a place to stay in Mangalore, this is great value for money.
