Hotel in Sawāi Mādhopur
Lying at the foot of the Aravali Ranges, the impressive Nahargarh Ranthambore is surrounded by a 16th-century style fortress. Other than maybe the Oberoi this would be THE place to stay in Rathambore. The hotel is an old palace and is exceptional in design and décor. The rooms were truly palatial and very roomy. The pool was a site to see in itself and was very refreshing after a dusty morning safari. All meals were included and the food was very good. They set up a dinner buffet outside in the garden at night and it was exceptional and the overall experience was very memorable. Breakfast and lunch were in the dining room and they schedule food availability around the safari times so there is never a problem with getting food. The entire staff ( front desk, restaurant ) were very helpful and courteous and made the stay exceptional. We had scheduled 2 safaris and was able to have the hotel schedule a 3rd safari on short notice which worked out well. This hotel as most in the Rathambore area are very hard to find since most are down dirt paths and you have the feeling of "where are we going" but when you pull up to the palace wall you enter another world, which was beautiful I would say this is one of the most memorable hotels we have ever stayed in and would highly recommend this for a Rathambore safari.

Situated within 500 m of Ranthambore National Park, Ranthambhore Heritage Haveli in Khilchīpur features a number of amenities including a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and a garden. Probably the best value for money hotel we've stayed in in India. The hotel was very accommodating in booking our safaris and even let us keep our room (free of charge) on check out day, because we would be doing an afternoon safari and our train wasn't leaving until late in the evening. Rajender, who has served us for most of our meals, was amazing! Very friendly in fullfilling our every need. If we are ever visiting again we will surely come back to this hotel.

A former royal hunting lodge, the luxurious Vivanta by Taj Sawai Madhopur offers a beautiful outdoor pool, pampering spa services and a modern gym. Fantastic service & staff. Mr. Robinson at the front desk went above & beyond answering our many questions. Mr. Deepak at the restaurant fed us with full hospitality as guests to his own home. Beyond the service, the property itself is beautiful, spacious and very well maintained. The rooms have an old world charm, with all the modern comforts.

These hotels in Sawāi Mādhopur are highly rated by couples: SPOT ON 67486 Hari Ranthambore Guest House, Hotel Tiger Haveli and Madho Bagh.
Madho Bagh, Omak Tiger Seven and Nahargarh Ranthambhore have received great reviews from travellers in Sawāi Mādhopur regarding the views from their hotel rooms.
Tiny place, quaint town, easy-going. Lots of good eateries around the station area. If you are a nonvegetarian, you may not get things you like. Local modes of transport may not be appealable to people who need to travel comfortably. Tiger safari steals the show and if you get to see the tiger, the thrill is unparalleled. For a nature lover, it is a treat.
There is just one reason for visiting Sawai Madhopur - the safari in Rantambore NP. So if you want to see tigers book a safari in advance and go there. Be aware, that there are different zones in the national park and in some of them (e.g. 2-4) you have more chance to spot a tiger. Read about it more on the internet before you select the zone and book the safari.
The hotels are located close by the access for the National Park making a good base to explore. As most hotels provide their own food there is little other choice. There is nothing else to see in the town.
My trip's focus was the Safari -- I took two (Early morning and Afternoon). Tip: Please try and Pre-Book your safari (Prefered zones are 1-6, there are fewer sightings in 7-10)... I, unfortunately, didn't sight any Tigers... we were told we missed one by probably 10-15 mins (fresh paw prints was all I got). All in all, the tiger sighting is a gamble. Coming to the positives -- It's a great feeling to ride through the jungle-- you will see plenty of Spotted deers and sambar deers, Peacocks, Peahens, Crocodile and some very beautiful and photogenic birds ... Ranthambore Fort is also a treat... On a height, the fort gives you a good panoramic view of the region and jungle. One can spend a good 2 hours there. Try and stop by Dastakar (NGO) for some Cloth based steals... Great for Clothes (Women, Men, Children + Accessories and bags) -- All produced there using labor sourced from the surrounding villages
We visited Ranthambore National Park, Fort, Rajiv Gandhi Museum and Local Temples and ordered food from the hotel Ranthambore Mahal, the food was fresh and delicious. They provided us super delicious local sweet of sawai madhopur.
Roads in Sawai Madhopur are in a poor state. The entire city is very dusty. The road leading to Chambal crocodile sanctuary is very bad. The chances of sighting a tiger in Jeep Safari is very less. Ranthambore fort is nice and clean. However, a lot of guides would trouble at the entrance.

Sawāi Mādhopur
Staff were very professional, high standards of customer service was demonstrated. A nice surprise welcome drink, beautiful lobby with a great atmosphere. The room was amazing and the bed was by far the most comfiest bed we have found in India, absolutely no contest. Well maintained and clean pool, beautiful building and grounds along with an excellent breakfast buffet. Wish we could stay longer! We have been staying at cheap places, so this was abit of a splurge but so worth it.
