Set by the spectacular Skogafoss Waterfall, this hotel offers an in-house restaurant and guest rooms with free WiFi and a tiled bathroom with shower. Everything was perfect!!! Beautiful view on the waterfall from the room AND a better one from the restaurant where breakfast was served. Had a really great stay
Located within a 7-minute of Rutshellir Caves, Hotel Drangshlid is just 2.5 mi from Skogafoss in South Iceland. The property offers free WiFi and the staff can organize horseback riding and jeep... Location location location Hotel is surrounded by beautiful green hills. You have opportunity to stay close to nature . I have noticed horses comes to feed.
Set in Skogar, less than 0.6 mi from Skogafoss Waterfall, Hotel Kverna offers accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a fitness center and a bar. This 3-star hotel offers a garden. Great price for lots of amenities. We (3 guys mid 20s) are not picky with beds or rooms, just need a place to sleep. The breakfast was seriously amazing, and when we were cold after a hike and came back after we checked out, they let us use the showers again free of charge, such nice people working there. Lots of great rooms to hang out, would recommend!
Located in Skogar, 1969 feet from Skogafoss Waterfall, Guest house Skógafoss provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. Access to a kitchen is available for guests. Very simple and nice setup. Great view from the kitchen. Easy to find and the hostess was in touch and very kind.
Overlooking the Eyjafjöll Mountains, these self-catering cottages include a kitchenette and furnished terrace. They are located by Eyjafjallajökull Glacier, 1 minutes’ drive from Iceland’s Ring Road. This was our favorite place we stayed. It was just the right size for our family of 4, it had all the things we needed (towels, coffee maker, microwave, etc) and the beds were comfortable with black out shades. The location was beautiful and close to a hot spring. We would have loved staying much longer here.
Great place to stop at while driving to Vik! There are many things to see and do and endless hiking paths to follow. A few waterfalls around including Kvernufoss, which was amazingly hidden, but very near the Skogar Museum. The museum offers a variety of exhibits on history of the area ( outside part including turf houses), but also technical part - really amazing and great thing to do when the weather is not promising. We stayed at hotel Skogafoss and we had a real blast there! Highly recommended due to facilities and service alike. There is a Eyjafjallajökull visitor centre, right below the volcano- unfortunately closed during winter season. We drove and walked to Seljavallalaug hot spring natural pool, where you can swim, however water is quite cold. The surroundings is beautiful though. Further south you can drive towards Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara/Black beach. We loved Skogar area very much and had amazing time at different spots around.
The hotel is located very close from the waterfall. The waterfall is spectacular! I recommend to go all the way up the stairs and walk around the trail and enjoy the marvelous view. It is a quiet and small town with very friendly people 😀
Location was the best part as just a min. Away from ring road and next to skogafoss a must visit when doing the South iceland tour....we did not opt for dinner or breakfast but have heard it was good....
The waterfall is the highlight, and if you have time, you should walk a bit further on the trail above it. It’s a beautiful hike. The folk museum is amazing, sounds corny, but it’s really good. It has an excellent cafe too. Area is close to Vik and the black sand beaches. The bistro at hotel Skogafoss is consistent and the food is good and reasonably priced for Iceland. Sadly the ‘secret’ waterfall now has a highway trodden too it and lots of erosion on site as people have climbed all over the grass outposts and killed all the vegetation.
The shower heads water pressure was weak. Didn't have enough hot water. Showered with semi warm water. Felt like I stayed in a hostel instead of a hotel. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of where to visit.
We had a beautiful view of Skogafoss from our window. Our stay was great. Dinner was awesome. I opted for no bacon on my Caesar Salad and they added chicken instead, free of charge. Woke up to an amazing view of the mountain for our breakfast view. Everything was perfect for our stay.
