Set a 10-minute drive from Vik village, this quietly located countryside hotel offers rooms with a seating area, large flat-screen TV and free WiFi. The Skógafoss Waterfall is 14 mi away. The ample space in the rooms and the friendly atmosphere in this private run 9 room hotel. Also Bedflixing with the in room Netflix account after an action packed day was delicious. This hotel is a gem! We extended our stay from 1 to 4 days and accepted some extra driving kilometers just because this place was so nice. Excellent coffee!

Not too far of a drive from Vik & popular sights but far away enough that it’s quiet and had a fantastic display of Northern Lights. Doesn’t look much from outside but very impressed with our room, was very large and comfortable. Breakfast included was delicious. A fantastic stay with beautiful surrounding views.

Farmhouse Lodge, Vík Cottages, and Volcano Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Vík.
Many families visiting Vík loved staying at Hótel Kría, Volcano Hotel, and Hotel Vík í Mýrdal.
Vik is a small place, so its easy to get around. Drove up to the church car park from where you can see the whole of Vik and the beach front- great to take photos. We walked to the dyrholaey nature reserve and then toi Reynisfjara (black sand) beach. Both well worth doing.
Vik is conveniently located on the 1. Black sand beach very beautiful. Katla ice cave must see attraction. Many choices of restaurant--we ate at Strondin's Pub. Shopping center has cute cafe with excellent pastries and sandwiches. You can buy extra gear at Iceware. Our trip was during Christmas week 2022. Extreme weather conditions made road impassable but it was easy enough to walk around once wind finished. Had super snazzy Christmas dinner at Hotel Vik's dining room.
Vik is a WONDERFUL little town with lots of traveler amenities. Did our Katla Ice Cave Tour with Troll Expeditions from there. Had a great BBQ sandwich and ribs, fries, and micro-brew in the Microbrewery Smidjan Brugghus. Excellent. The Strondin Pub Vik was Very nice, even when we walked in the door at 11pm when our car broke down. Gas station excellent and the Grocery store Kr and Clothing/Outdoor Gear/Souvenirs at Icewear and Vik Wool. I would use Vik as a home base to see things in area.
Vik is a small town/village by the sea. It's picturesque, there are some nice places for food, coffee and a nice church you can visit. It's very scenic and convenient to stay there, as you are close to Black Sand Beach but also not too far away from other main attractions. I recommend having coffee at Skool Bus, it's a school bus turned into a cafe.
Black sand beaches, cute little town that offered plenty of good food options. Shout out to Skool Beans Cafe - for coffee, muffins, aww moments & cute pix Sudur Vik - for providing a fantastic multi-day dining experience Black Beach Suites - for providing a beautiful accommodation, with views and sunsets and awesome staff. Although not tried the baked goods really smelled divine.
The Hotel Burfell was close to Vik and beaches. Quiet, beautiful setting, easy to locate. The hotel served dinner. Their menu looked delicious, but we chose to eat in Vik. Both restaurants we chose were fantastic and the customer service was tremendous.
The location of the hotel is perfect. You have the famous Black Diamond Beach just a walk away, a petrol station, restaurants and the most beautiful view to wake up to. We got snowed in for two days and the hotel were very accommodating and understanding. We were able to organise to stay in the hotel for another night at the same cost as initially booking. Breakfast was lovely and the room was very nice and clean. The bathroom is wonderful and I had one of the best showers during my stay in Iceland. Overall highly recommended.
Vík
This is the one hostel that I stayed in during my Iceland stay and I was impressed. Excellent value for money and lively vibe. We shared a private room with a shared bathroom down the hallway. Bed was very comfortable. Shower and bathroom were clean and I did not have to wait. Lovely view from the room. There is a bar open till very late and kitchen available to cook. Lots of people chatting and cooking from all corners of the world. Close to the town of Vik with black sand beaches.
Vík
We had Vik as one of our first stops along the Ring Road after Reykjavik and we’re so happy to find the full size washer and dryer there, and all of the other thoughtful design features of this holiday home. If we return to Iceland, we hope to stay longer in the area and enjoy the stay in the apartments more. It was a great place for our group of four adults and made for a more affordable stop.
Vík
The location is very good. All restaurants and the beach in Vík are walkable. Also good location to explore the rest of south Iceland. In the room there are some helpful utilities like a water cooker, toaster and coffee machine. There is also a possibility to use the fridge and microwave. The hostess is very kind and helpful
Hotel felt like new and was spotlessly clean. The breakfast served was absolutely fantastic, and dinner was one of the best meals we had in Iceland. Staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the location in Vík simply cannot be topped. Hotel Kria was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland!
Wonderful breakfast. Banana bread is perfect, it is baked by a hotel lady. Spacious, clean rooms. Clean bathroom. Very nice and welcoming people. Amazing views. Very good location to reach the main places in the south of Iceland.
The hotel and rooms were modern, clean and beautiful. Very well appointed rooms! Breakfast was very good, a nice buffet with all of the traditional Icelandic and American offerings. Highly recommend!
Beautiful location in Vik. Great place to stop for a moment and continue to explore Iceland. Thank you Kasia for nice chat and your advices :-)
Breakfast was exceptional. Dinner was fantastic, one of our best meals in Iceland. The views from the hotel made it a perfect place to stay.
Our second visit. Definitely the best guest house we stayed at during our 8 days in Iceland. A home away from home.
The breakfast is one of the best we had in iceland. Clean room and fun hot springs in the hotel.
