Opening in July 2018, Hótel Kría is located in Vík. Among the various facilities are a garden and a bar. There is a restaurant. The black sand beaches begin about 5 minutes' walk from the hotel. I enjoyed everything. Mainly the Staff everyone is super friendly and helpfull. Was an awesome surprise when I arrived at the Hotel and met a Portuguese speaking at the reception. Actually Marco Reis was super at receiving us, and his insight and suggestions made our trip way more valued. The Hotel is very well located in Vik area. We set up our base here so we could easly go visit other places by car, instead of driving all the from Reykjavik. Thank you all. I hope I'll return to this amazing hotel.

Located 3 miles from Vík í Mýrdal, this countryside hotel features spacious guest rooms and stunning views of the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier. This was my second stay here in the past 3 months. This time the breakfast did not include hot foods like bacon, sausage, and eggs. They still had make your own waffles and porridge, plus lots of fresh breads, and deli type stuff but I missed the other options. Also got an free upgrade in our room, stayed in the newest building which is beautiful. Not sure what the other units in the other buildings look like.

Set a 15-minute drive from Vik village, this quietly located countryside hotel offers an in-house restaurant and rooms with a seating area, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The rooms were large, modern and warm. The beds were comfortable too. There was access to a lounge with tea and coffee available all the time which was great and included biscuits. Breakfast was fantastic - a variety of breads, cereal, hams and cheese, eggs and juice, tea and coffee. Staff were pleasant and hospitable. Wifi was quick and easily accessed. Out look is very pretty and a 5 min drive to Vik. It's a great base to explore the east of Iceland. Highly recommend.

The village of Vik was a cute little town with a few attractions to see, like the black beaches, and the red-top church. Unfortunately the grocery store in town closed early than we expected, so we didn’t get to shop there. Highly recommended as a stop to stay overnight if driving the southern coast of Iceland.
The town is quaint and beautiful with plenty of options for food, as well as grocery stores and cafes. My favorite place was the Icelandic Lava show that I learned about from a waitress At the restaurant I had lunch at. A must see!
Great place to stay. Very convenient for exploring the whole south.Very good restaurants in Vik. We could walk to the grocery store and The amazing Blacksand beach! The Volcano museum is great and don’t miss the glacier lake boat tour.
We only stopped long enough to take pictures in the "must see" areas of Vik. The weather was very windy and rainy but we had the best time! Do not let the weather discourage you! The black sand beaches were gorgeous and we spent a long time watching the puffins fly by the land bridge. It was one of the highlights of our trip! Luckily the weather cleared the next morning and we were able to hike up and see the beautiful view from the church.
Cute town on the sea. Good restaurants. We ate at Ice Cave and Strondin. Loved that there was a grocery store right across the street from the brand new apartment we stayed in for 2 nights. Beautiful views of the sea. Vik was a great South Coast destination and easily allowed us to see the glacier lagoons and other must-see sights.
The first day we were in Vik, the weather was rainy. We made it to the Basalt Column beach and took a nice walk. The area surrounding Vik is beautiful, and we actually stopped at dyhouley on the way back through Vik two days later. A must see! Definitely worth a stop for a night and if the weather is nice, so much to walk around and see!

The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was outstanding. The homemade breads (3 different kinds) were out of this world. I am actually going to contact Angelo and see if he will give me the recipe for the Kryddbraud (traditional Icelandic bread made with cinnamon, ginger and cloves). Lots of choices for breakfast and very good coffee. Everything so clean. Would highly recommend this guesthouse and hopefully we will be back one day.

The rooms were small, as said, but nice, with enough room. Very friendly and helpful staff (note that there are no workers at the hostel itself, but they're at the hotel, which is just next to the hostel). The kitchen and eating area were OK too. It was pretty centric (although it was a 12min walk to the shops/supermarkets). For beign Iceland, the price was fare too. Overall, I would recommend.

A lovely, cosy place. Warm and clean. The owner is very welcoming. Breakfast is good. Our room was large and comfortable ( superior). Shoes need to be left outside because the owner wants to keep the place clean. You can borrow sleepers. Very recommendad! So far the best hostel i have been in iceland.

This was by far our favorite Guesthouse in Iceland. What a lovely welcoming! We loved that set up of the place as it allowed guests to share some time together, plus the owners were really helpful and they made sure we enjoyed our time in their place and also in town. I loved it!

Nice location outside vik, under the cliffs and with ocean view. Bed was very comfy. Windows had goos blinders which make the room completely dark. A luxus in Iceland where in the summer sun never goes down.
