Set in Staffal just 656 feet from the Monterosa ski elevators, Ellex Hotel offers free WiFi and Alpine-style rooms with mountain views and satellite TV. The room was charming and well appointed. The staff were super helpful. I had a private booking for one night and another booking with a group for another night, with one day in between for an overnight on the mountain. For the price of a late checkout, the hotel staff allowed me to leave my stuff in the room and come back to the same room the next day. They were very accommodating!

Albergo Ristoro Sitten is chalet-style hotel with a terrace offering panoramic views across Gressoney La Trinité. It is right at the top of the Sant'Anna cable car, in the Monte Rosa ski area. Loved the location of this property. In winter, you ski all the way down to the place. The accommodation is located on the red and black ski slopes. The views are amazing. You can admire the glacier and the beauty of the mountains. The breakfast is delicious italian, I missed the warm scrambled eggs. The dinner is from 5 dishes, food is delicious, but too salty for me. The rooms are very warm, simple but clean. Television with Netflix and internet. The host is helpful and kind. I would like to visit this place next time with my whole family.

Small town with just a few nice places to eat and have a coffee/beer/grappa. Its perfect for a ski holiday and i could imagine that the region has plenty to offer in the summer as well. People are really really nuce and courteous, prices are very reasonable. Stay at B&B Gressoney or Lo Scoiattolo Hotel if you have more money and want more comfort, try a steak and matching wine at Castor Lounge and a pizza and grappa at Restaurant Walserschild. Don't miss out on Speck, Lardo and Genepi :)
A lovely little resort, we stayed in Staffal at the end of the valley, which is a perfect location sandwiched between Champoluc and Alagna. Fabulous skiing, great views of the four-thousander mountains. Lovely little restaurants to have lunch on the mountain, a well connected lift system.
Nice location with a lot of potential for off-piste skiing. Not ideal for beginners, with few number of slopes, which can get crowded easily. Also few number of lifts which can easily over-crowd. They should invest in increasing the number of lifts so that people have at least one option where to go, or go back to the hotel. But you can find a great few pistes in the middle of wonderful scenery, and if you are lucky with the weather, there are endless possibilities for off-piste fun.
Very good sky area that spans across three valleys: Champoluc, Gressoney and Alagna. The sky slopes are well prepared and offer different levels of difficulty . Staffal, the very small village north of Gressoney is very convenient to easy access the cabin lifts, but it has nothing else to offer. Just a few restaurants.
Stunning views. Great ski resort with a lot of variety. Right in the middle you can choose to go to Champoluc or across to Alagna. Lots of great mountain bars and restaurants along the way. Well kept and safe pistes and generally very good level facilities.
Fantastic resort, mainly reds with a handful of blacks so not necessarily for beginners. However the run classification in Italy errs slightly on the side of caution. The reds are very wide and well pisted so more like blues and the blacks are more like reds . Very friendly staff in all the mountain restaurants/cafes. A very quiet resort compared to most of the French ones, we never had to queue longer than 4 mins for a lift and most of the time skied straight on. Great places to eat!!
Gressoney-la-Trinité
The hotel has a great feel and is well located. We skied back to the hotel each day. There is a storage locker downstairs for ski gear. Everything was perfectly clean and the bathroom had a great shower with good pressure. The bed was comfortable with nice linen. The hosts were incredible, they dropped us at the ski rental building and were very helpful. Breakfast was really nice with lots of different options. Free parking is provided. There was a restaurant right across the street for dinner. Will be back if ever skiing Monterosa.
The breakfast service was odd and slow but this is because of Covid - breakfast was ok but hotel was great value so no complaints. The hotel is a bit old fashioned but the photos show this so we were expecting it and it was good value so again no complaints. It was very clean and in a great location with the lift just outside. There is a ski shop 2 mins away and a lovely bar with a bigger bar round the corner and enough good restaurants in walking distance for the week. Sarah on reception was super helpful!
This was a lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The quality of the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend staying there if you are somebody that enjoys mountain scenery.
Loved the friendly staff, great location, comfortable beds and pillows, and the overall cleanliness of our room and the hotel. Also the breakfast was varied and had enough of everything we wanted.
Very good location of the hotel close to the skiing lifts. Very good & friendly staff. Appreciated: the SPA, unfortunately only accessible in the evening.
Really nice, family style hotel on a perfect location! thanks a lot for the nice stay, we enjoyed that a lot.
