What an extremely well run, friendly, helpful and very reasonably priced hotel! The manager, Mario, greeted us like family, arranging everything we needed and even parking our car free of charge while we settled into our room which was modern, well appointed and immaculately clean. He also gave us excellent travel advice for our day trip to the islands and the best places to see in Milazzo. We have only warm memories of our days there.

Milazzo would probably be one off the more famous seaside destinations in Sicily, if it were not for one of the largest oil refineries in Europe. The city likely has very unhealthy air. Too bad. The castle complex itself is first class. Few tourists, except for the area around the ferry terminal. Of course, best proximity to the Aeolian islands, but also some smaller seaside and hill towns, perfect for nearby day trips.

Great take off place for travels to the islands, but there's also some charm to the city, lovely outdoor restaurants, and a trip out to the point and castle makes this a great place to spend a day or two

It's not always people's first choice - many simply go onto the Aeolian Islands instead of staying here - but we found Milazzo, as we have everywhere else in Sicily, to be friendly and was well worth at least a short visit. Real shame that the fort was closed when we were there but the it's still quite a good sight from the town, especially if you take a boat tour out to Panarea and/or Stromboli. The cemetery up the hill was also well kept, respectful and peaceful. The train station is a bit offset from the main town but there are decent options of local busses and more expensive but still not hugely costly - €15 for both of us - taxis just outside. We had a burger at Bukowski - Mestoli & Miscele which was pretty good and the staff were, once again, absolutely lovely. They also, like a lot of places in Milazzo, spoke very good English and were helpful and kind.

Millazo is a lovely break from some of the more popular spots to visit in Sicily. It is of course the dropping off point for the islands but the local area including the castle, Venus pool and laid back vibe is a welcome relief when touring around

We had a week in Milazzo, nice food and cheap. Very handy for ferries to islands and you can get a cheap bus to Milazzi station for other destinations. I really warmed to it, even though it is off the tourist track (much more Sicilian and no tatty shops). Lovely quiet beach on west side of peninsula. Castle is worth visiting, a place to stay and use to get to other places. Promenade on east side is lovely, especially on weekends when all the locals promenade!

Milazzo is a charming small town with a rich history and plenty of cafes, restaurants, and entertainment options. It offers a solid nightlife scene blended with intimate and beautiful dining spots. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality of food is good—we enjoyed fresh and delicious meals everywhere we went. I didn’t expect much, but I would gladly return again. Its location is excellent, as it sits halfway between many significant sights worth visiting. There aren’t many foreign tourists, which adds a special charm by giving a more authentic glimpse into the summer habits and culture of the Italians. Sicilians are a warm and welcoming people. We felt comfortable, safe, and embraced. Everyone was smiling, cheerful, and ready to treat you like one of their own. The local culture in this town is expressed to its fullest, in the most beautiful way. Young people socialize in a very urban, modern, and cultured manner—without drama, but with plenty of style. The people are lovely, and I truly recommend Milazzo to anyone looking for a good, relaxing holiday without crowds, with all the amenities you could need: clean water, beaches, a historic town, the charm of Italy, good food, warm locals, long walks, incredible sunsets, and quality time well spent.

The location is very convenient if you are travelling to the Aeolian Islands, as the property is right by the port. The rooms are quite basic but very clean. The host did allow us to leave our luggage as we were returning for another night, and also let us have some flexibility with check-out which we appreciated.

Very nice hotel in the center of Milazzo. The rooms are large and clean. We stayed for one night because of the morning ferry to Stromboli, but if we could we would have stayed a week. The owner was very helpful and polite. We recommend.
