Parma is a university town in Emilia-Romagna that is a great spot for car travel because it is less touristic than some of the neighboring towns. We used it as a home base to do food tours, cooking classes and day trips around the region and into Liguria.

Beautiful city with lots to see and do from the Basilica to the Museums and qaint little laneways with shops to browse. Of course Parma ham and cheese is the main reason we went to go to the origin of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto di Parma ham. Highly recommend stopping in for some local treats and coffee at Anima Di Parma cafe.

Amazing location, everything you need is within walking range. We had a 3,5 hour traffic delay due to obstruction which caused us to arrive at 02:00 in the night but the host stayed up for us regardless and took time out for extensive explanations to make sure we had an amazing trip and knew exactly what products we needed to take home from Parma. Also the room was super clean. This was by far the best stay we’ve experienced in our trip to Italy.
