The hotel is beautiful and has everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel constructed at the beginning of the 20th century. We liked everything, including the location (right overlooking the beach/sea), the grandeur of the downstairs lobby and restaurants and the room(s). We were especially impressed with helpfulness and professionalism of the reception staff, especially Lumi who could not have been more helpful and was instrumental in getting us an upgrade. We very much hope to return one day!

Rimini is a lively seaside holiday destination with a beautiful beach, plenty of restaurants, cafés, shops, and everything you might need for a vacation. There is always something happening, and the atmosphere is very vibrant. However, our overall experience was mixed. The streets are often very crowded, especially during the holiday season. There are many small souvenir shops and stores, and in some areas it felt more like walking through a busy market than a traditional Italian seaside town. If you would like to eat at the more popular restaurants, it is a good idea to make a reservation in advance, as they fill up quickly. We also noticed that some parts of the city, especially a little farther from the beachfront, looked neglected, with litter and buildings that could use better maintenance. Walking around in the evening was sometimes stressful because bicycles and electric scooters frequently used the sidewalks at high speed, often without slowing down for pedestrians. It made walking with children feel less safe than we expected. Another challenge was communication. In several restaurants and shops, very few staff members spoke English, making it difficult for international tourists. We expected a more tourist-friendly experience from such a popular holiday destination. Overall, Rimini offers a beautiful beach and plenty of entertainment, but for us it was simply too crowded and hectic. Personally, we would choose Bibione for our next seaside holiday, as we found it more relaxing and easier to enjoy.

Bologna’s historic center is incredibly pedestrian-friendly, meaning you can easily explore everywhere on foot, though the city also boasts an excellent, reliable bus network. Food and drink here are world-class—every meal is a highlight. Culturally, stepping into the stunning Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio and its wooden Teatro Anatomico is unforgettable. Best of all, Bologna serves as the perfect launchpad to explore Italy’s legendary Motor Valley (Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Ducati are just a short trip away). On the downside, prices for accommodation and dining in the heart of the center can be quite steep. Overall, it is highly recommended!

Nice town, lots of activity in the summer. Lots of pedestrian nicely done with trees and flowers (jasmine smell all over mmmm). The shopping is really good and cheap, lots of outlet stores. Sand beach is interesting, though you have to pay for deck chairs (55 euros !) Trip to nearby San Marino and Rimini is recommended. Near Rimini there is also aquapark an Mini Italia. Worth seeing.

Cesenatico is a nice little coastal town, with a wonderful harbor full of ancient historical ships - open air museum - and a promenade full of restaurants; impressive are the long boulevards flanked by old maritime pine trees. It's also the home town of mythical Marco Pantani, bike road runner, with several monuments dedicated to this beloved hero killed by italian Mafia.

Our group of 6 just completed a 10 whirlwind tour of Venice, Florence, Pompeii, Sorrento, Isle of Capri, and Rome. Our two day stay in Ravenna was perfect to decompress from the demanding schedule to relax a bit, get some laundry done and check our the small town atmosphere. In addition, there were beautiful sites close to the house. There was easy access to the port to begin our cruise. Very good location for some calmness, good food, comfortable, relaxing house, and UNESCO sights.
