Excellent place for through travellers on their way to Switzerland (since you're already clear of Milan) but NOT for those on their way to Italy since you're north of MIlan and you have to get around Milan (hectic) in order to go further south.

I worked and lived in Central Milan for four years
I worked and lived in Central Milan for four years
and never went to Saronno. I was very pleasantly
surprised. Relaxed, easy and low stress for the shops,
We stayed close to the rail station and it was only 18 minutes from there to Milan on the train. We were priced out of Milan as they had the Winter Olympics and so chose Saronno and it was great ( and much more affordable accommodation).

This is an interesting small town with two spectacular...
This is an interesting small town with two spectacular churches in particular. The main reason for staying a night at the beginning or end of a trip is the proximity to Milan Malpensa Airport (15 mins by express train) and the fact that accommodation and restaurants are much cheaper than at the airport itself.

Overnight stay en route to Como and only stayed her because of flight time and using train.not much to the place. Amaretto museum wasn’t open hotel we stayed in was disappointing. Only bonus was an Aldi near the hotel!

Saronno is right in the middle between Milan and Malpensa...
Saronno is right in the middle between Milan and Malpensa Airport and Lake Como.
Train services is very good.
Area is safe.
Plently of grocery shops to choose.
Please bring any Identification (passport/drivers license)with you when you all the time.One time on our way home from Milan Cardona, the police checked our ID inside the train.The train is for Malpensa airport that stops in Saronno,maybe thats why police are checking ID to all passengers.

I stayed in Starhotels Grand Milan Saronno for one night...
I stayed in Starhotels Grand Milan Saronno for one night only, but near my hotel found an amazing pizzeria 4 Seasons Ristorante Pizzeria which I recommend to everyone. Here are amazing dishes, especially seafood.

Excellent location close to Saronno station with its fast (15-minute) train service to Milan Malpensa Airport. Also a short walk from the town centre. The apartment is located in an old and typical Lombardian courtyard but clean and comfortable. The host's agent met us on arrival and showed the boxes containing the keys.

Lovely room with en-suite and air con. We came from Malpensa airport - a short train ride to Saronno and then an easy 10 min walk from the station. We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant below - food was fantastic. Then back on the train the next morning to Como Lago. A great stop over.

- Excellent location, a two-minute walk from the Saronno train station.

It feels like home! A “real” apartment furnished with taste. The kitchen is fully equipped. Excellent for a longer stay. Walking distance to the train station and conveniently situated in Saronno’s central area.
