Hotel Porto Azzurro is located in a quiet, residential area, a few yards from the Lake Garda shore. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, you found the right place. Was staying for 3 nights with my kids. We had 2 rooms and the hotel managed to book us in the same floor as requested. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was mixed and well served. the location of the hotel is right next to a bus station leading to old town few minutes drive, also receptionist gave us clear instructions on shopping centers, gardaland and more attractions. The weather would not allow us to use the pool unfortunately.

Hotel Corte Regina

Hotel in Old City, Sirmione

Set in the heart of Sirmione's historic center, Corte Regina is a friendly family-run hotel completely renovated to preserve the town's architectural style. From the second I saw the building, I liked this hotel. The sign itself was beautiful. The restaurant is in front of the hotel & looked very inviting. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant & helpful. We arrived a little early, but she checked to see if our room was available & luckily, it was. All of the rooms are name after flowers, not numbered & have little painted plaques next to the door of the room. The room was immaculate! And when I opened the wooded shutters on the window, I fell in love with the little balcony view of the clock tower to my left & the main cobblestone street to my right. There were beautiful bougainvillea flowers across the way and on the corner building. Later on, we went down to the restaurant for dinner. I had the veal cutlet & my friend had the lamb shank. Both dishes were superb! If i could give this place 11 stars, I would!

Lake Views from Every Angle

On a narrow peninsula protruding into Lake Garda, Sirmione is a wonderful town famed for its multi-turreted castle, Roman remains and hot springs.

The 13th-century lakeside castle makes quite an impressive sight as you cross its drawbridge to enter the old town beyond. From its walls there are lovely views of red-roofed buildings towards the trees hiding the ruins of a huge villa that belonged to 1st-century BC Roman poet Catullus. Part of the complex included baths featuring the thermal waters, and the town still has a spa today on the opposite side of the promontory.

Nearby is the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore with its 15th-century frescoes, and the surrounding narrow, cobbled streets are home to stone buildings and several Sirmione hotels on Lake Garda. The majority of hotels are mid-range, but there are still a few 4 and 5-star hotels in Sirmione to choose from.

Booking.com also has lots of accommodations by the lake in the newer part of town, and its Lugana Vecchia area has a UNESCO World Heritage-listed prehistoric site.

To the west of Sirmione is the lakefront town of Desenzano del Garda, while to the east is Peschiera del Garda, close to the Gardaland and Canevaworld theme parks. The nearest airport is Verona Catullo Airport to the southeast.
